Black Cow Hide Elite Leather Skins 12 inch Square Cutting 2.5 OZ. Upholstery Light Weight Book CHAP NAT Leathers (12" x 12")

This is a fantastic, buttery soft hide with good smell and minimum fold-wrinkles. However, "Elite" is a bit misleading as this hide came with a couple of holes and is not of A+ top quality. I would call it A quality to A-. Still an excellent "Naked" hide. The dye is very black and all the way through the leather which means it will certainly wear well. The thickness and weight of the leather is heavier than expected, but due to the softness and the grain, this is a good benefit. I would be careful if you intend to use a home sewing machine due to the thickness issue causing binding when you inevitable get multiple layers at seams. Overall, an excellent matte-sheen to the grain (not as shiney as the picture suggests) but as a Naked leather, waxs and oils can readily change the darkness and shine. Overall, this leather is far above anything else I've seen for the money for a side. To get any better savings then this you'll likely have to purchase a whole hide.

very nice piece of real leather

It was of excellent quality. There were no anatomical oddities/deformities due to harvest site.It was supple.It was nearly too thin though. The back, or sued, was ragged and the dye was much too heavily applied. It stained my fingers and hands for many days.My needs required a thicker hide.Well worth the money, with room for improvement.

Nice piece of leather. Worked for my purposes, recovering old footstool.

2nd review attempt- product feels pretty cheap, would rip if I tried pulling it apart. I am also not happy that the material was not 12 x 12. The product I was sent had a corner cut off, like 4 inches long and 2 inches deep cut off the corner.This review is about the product. I am very pleased with the swatch of Black Cow Hide Elite Leather I received. At first I was concerned because the piece was not a 'square'. Yet, after measuring the largest area, I found in fact, I received a piece 12" x 12" within a larger cut of leather. That means I will have enough scraps for another project. Thanks N.A.T. for your generosity. I am also with the I will remember that when I look for more leather on my next project.

Very badly cut! No straight edge! Irregular shape . Not a square of 12x12 as described in listing! One edge is 11” as shown in image.

The delivery was before the indicated day very fast and I have it in my hands it looks as indicated only I have not used it yet I hope that when I tapize my car the quality is good and as soon as I use it I will tell you about the quality.Thank you
