Great value for the money. Good looking
I was lucky enough to get my delivered in perfect condition it's used in our living room as a toy chest slash diaper holder slash catch all for everything until I'm ready to put it away. Its sleek and anything that looks like this is way more expensive. I mean it's not solid wood but for 215 bucks this is an amazing steal!! And after a year of having one we got another for my wife's lashing studio and it's a perfect modern but not too modern look.

Receiving wasn't perfect, but the end product is exactly what I wanted.
It's not my first time buying and building South Shore furniture, so I would say I have realistic expectations of the product and a good understanding of how South Shore functions as a business. If you like the way a South Shore product looks and this is what is in your budget, buy it, if you can accept the fact that a bundle of fiberboard traveling from warehouse to your doorstep is sketchy, you are willing to take the time to work with South Shore's customer service in the case that something is broken or missing from your package, and you are willing to take the time to give your full attention to reading the instructions and building the product. As long as you can commit to those things, I highly recommend buying South Shore for the high style for the price point. If you can't, you need to see your local furniture store instead.I had a rocky start with the receiving part of this transaction, but that is partly the fault of the package handler (UPS) and partly the fault of how South Shore packages these things. Somewhere along the way my box took a good sharp hit on one of the corners, and one cardboard box and some saran wrap weren't enough to keep fiberboard safe. The damage was mostly cosmetic, but the damage affected 8 pieces total, including the top and bottom piece, so I reached out to customer service to replace them (and at the time, I only noticed the damage on 5 of the 8 pieces). It took a while to get my replacements, but I got them, and that was all that mattered to me. During construction, I unfortunately noticed small chips on all of the small drawers. I could have reached out again to replace those, but I just sighed, colored in the chips, and put it all together anyway. With that experience in mind, I would recommend that you consider ordering from South Shore directly. I got my replacement parts via FedEx, so I would assume that they use FedEx for all their deliveries. I have traditionally had better luck receiving delicate packages from FedEx than UPS.Even though I had a bad time receiving the product, that doesn't mean the product is bad, so I still very much recommend it if you want a dresser in this style. Once I had all my parts, putting it together was a breeze. I enjoy the dark gray color, the unique offset drawer handles, and the subtle texture. The metal slides for the drawers glide smoothly. I also really liked the different sizes of drawers, something I had a very hard time finding in other dresser options. The little bit of damage that I missed that I just hid with the stipple marker aren't obvious.

It's a pretty piece, wish it was a bit more sturdy.
The items were not labeled great, but I managed. Quite a few of the pieces were splintered. I've put super glue on the splintered pieces because it's particle board. I'll then just get a grey sharpee to fill in the color. This is not ideal, but I don't want to have to go through this again. It took 2ish hours with two of us working on it. I advise grouping all the like pieces together, then lay out the screws, slides, handles, etc making sure you have everything, and check these items off as you go along. Regarding the slides, pay attention to the labeling, they are labeled CR - right, CL - left. Do follow the instructions for assembly. The company should do a better job labeling the screws etc, in my opinion. The dresser seems to be a little wobbly on the carpet, I don't know if it would be the same on a hard surface. But because I don't have children, I'm not terribly concerned. If you do have kids Definately attach to the wall with the safety bracket. Also, there's a label on one of the shelf pieces that doesn't come off easily, I will get some contact shelf paper to put on the shelves as I am not going to spend any more time trying to take off that label. The dark gray is pretty, and the dresser will work in the guest bedroom. Time will tell on durability, fingers crossed!! Quality of piece, cost wise should've been not even half the price. They state that it's packaged very well, which it seemed to be. It tells me then the pieces were damaged before packaging. So where was the quality control then?!

Not sure why people said it was a bad buy?
Well I ordered the product knowing I was taking a gambleven with all the bad reviews. They were WRONG!Well the box did arrive a little beat up, but on the box there was a big ol sign saying "if anything is damaged or missing, contact us for the parts". The sign on the box was nice, gave me the feeling that even if anything was missing, they would send it right away. When I opened the box, there was Styrofoam protecting the wood, it was all untouched. All the pieces were there, nothing was damaged at all! Some reviews are right, instructions were a little lacking, but it had enough to assemble everything correctly.Everything worked out perfectly; nothing missing, it came with spare assembly parts just in case (which I didn't need), and it looks nice too. This is well worth it for the money.I'd recommend it, which I have already to friends who were looking for a good dresser.
