What is difference between rod and track versions?

The rod is for round type curtain types such as dial etc and the track is for the blind type which has usually has the rod handle that you push to open and close. Track style WILL Not work on the rod and Vice versa.

Do you need a hub if you use Homekit? If so, why?

You do need one of the various Aqara hubs to connect all your devices to. The hub is necessary because it is the parent device that all the child devices connect to and Homekit communicates with the hub not directly to each individual device.

I have a 1 inch circular rod and it doesn’t lock on the thinner part. Is there a fix to this?

The rod should have a radius of 25mm to 32mm. If you decide to go with the 25mm then and that should be even entirely. A rod that has one section larger than the other section will not work.

Can you pair two motors together to draw heavy drapes from one side to another?

You can vaciase de first mother moved the second , and you can put a timer or grupo scene to make at the same time but it really work with heavy curtains !!
