Works fine
Much cheaper fix than replacing a complete valve. Work fine.

Expensive for what it is.
As title. Thought there were 2 in the pack, but it was my mistake. For the same price I could have bought 2 solid brass 15mm valves!

Sorted the problem with an Ideal Standard toilet
Brilliant. It did not look quite the same as the old washer that was in the Ideal Standard toilet of about 15 years old, but it certainly worked with no problems. Now the toilet does not keep on running a while after the flush. Easy to fit. Good service from the supplier.

Seems like the right thing
Seems like the right thing. Bought it as a spare as our local plumbing merchant only sold a kit with several other bits we didn't need. I was at first a bit concerned as the on we are replacing has 18 little indentations but I read on a website (maybe the sellers I can't remember) that these things start off smooth and get the ridges over time - the other smooth one I fitted (from the kit) worked just fine so I assume this one will too.

Easy solution for faulty inlet
After 10 years our toilet cistern inlet would not shut off and overflowed continuously. A bit of internet research revealed that Armitage Shanks have two designs for silent inlet you have to make sure you get the right one and this is for the earlier model. In my case the inlet valve was very hard to undo and the old diaphragm had welded itself to the housing so replacing it was not as striaghtforward as I'd imagined. its worth cleaning out the filter at the same time because there are some tiny holes which stop the valve from working if they get blocked. The valve works by water pressure and so it has to bleed air out before it wil work. Mine took a couple of minutes to do this so if it doesn't appear to be working give it some time! Its a lot cheapoerand easier than fitting a whole new inlet valve which is the only alternative.
