Braille for Beginners: A course and practice workbook in grade one braille for the sighted

My 94 year old mother has become blind in the last few years and she loved it, and can’t wait to start learning with it!

Like it so much this has become a repeat purchase for me.

I’m using this workbook to help me prepare for my job working as a braillist in the school district. This book has been really helpful but there are some errors throughout it that causes some confusion. Mislabeled braille that causes some of the exercises to be wrong.

I need to learn Braille. My 8 year old granddaughter saw my workbook and now she wants to learn Braille. I ordered another workbook so she can learn it too!

Most likely part of a curriculum, not good for trying to learn by yourself. Used capital letters for lower case representation all throughout the book. The first Braille you see is punctuation. And when he says “numerical signs”, I’m assuming he means “numbers”. Feels like a college project put into print. Half of the book is blank dots to practice. I appreciate the effort by the author, but the book only confused my daughter.

The book is good, It's both educational and entertaining. However, for the price, it should offer more content. Additionally, some sections are poorly printed, which detracts from the overall quality.

Strickly for folks with eyesight. I was disappointed that there wasn't a card enclosed with sample braille to feel.
