When you need a longer thermocouple
I purchased this to use in conjunction with a PID controller to get the probe further into the center of an oven. It works great and I appreciate the extended probe. The actual cord for the probe is very long, if you need the length for your project.Basically it works great and the price is low for what you get.

Measures 9 degrees low in boiling water. Not lab quality accurate but this is a good price for the style and accuracy and now I now the offset to use. Tested at approximately 750 feet above sea level.

Good quality for the money
A vintage, 1920's, Philadelphia "Brown Electric Pyrometer" was given to me. It is beautifully encased in a finished oak and glass enclosure with brass hardware. I decide to put it to the test with with this thermocouple. I cannot testify to the accuracy of this theromcouple because I have no equipment to do so. The construction quality appears to be very good and rugged. I did hook it up to the Pyrometer and it registered on the meter when I put a lighter to the sensor. I intend to design and build an op-amp interface that will scale it to room temperature which will allow this pyrometer to be used as a novelty room thermometer. This thermocouple is way overkill for what I want it to do so this device perfectly fine for me.

I love this thing!
I haven't had a chance to test the accuracy properly, but I think it's close to accurate based on my observations. I use in a homemade coffee roaster, and it's perfect for reaching way down into the chamber to gather info for bean temperature. I've had it to temperatures of about 450°F. At ~385°F, coffee beans will "crack" audibly. It's a dependable event that will occur during every single roasting operation on every single roaster. The moment this thermocouple detects temps between 382 and 385, the audible cracking begins, so it can't be off more than a few degrees at the very most. Do yourself a favor and buy this thing! It's super convenient!

Temperature Sensor with wires.
This temperature sensor allows you to wire it to a plug to any thermometer. If you are building a thermometer display, you can create your own connectors.
