PioneerCAR DMH1700NEX PIONEER 6.8" MV Touchscreen Bluetooth

I should have read the reviews and listened. Well it lasted a few years but like everyone said and the pictures to prove it. It froze up went blank did the line thing. All is true. Things aren’t made to last these days. Not like I paid a thousand bucks for the thing. Not sure what it would cost to get it repaired. Just bought an Alpine for 300 bucks. Will see how long it last.

Pioneer can confirm that 10 out of 100 units are faulty due to solder or wiring issues. You’re gonna buy this unit, it’s gonna fail, Pioneer support will switch out the unit for you. But you’re gonna incur the cost of shipping the unit to them and the cost of getting a technician to uninstall and reinstall a new unit which is not worth the hassle. I can’t express this, “ DO. OT BUY THIS UNIT” you will end up paying 3x more the cost do this unit in getting the issues fixed.

I've had more than a few Pioneer screens with similar features and this unit is definitely one of the lower end units.Pros: Looks good, responsive touchCons: Hard to see buttons in the day with brightness turned up, screen mirroring doesn't work, low audio quality (only 17 watts rms), volume buttons are hard to see (poke and pray), BT range is short, BT frequently disconnects.Ultimately after using this unit for a few months I ended up returning it. Pioneer does make nice head units but this isn't one of them. If i were to buy again I would definitely spend a little extra for one of the nicer Pioneer or Kenwood units. Stay away from this one.

Screen randomly turns off have to plug and unplug radio to turn back on and backup camera won’t automatically turn on when put in reverse even with wires hooked up

Beware. During the pandemic Pioneer imported a bunch of these and a good percentage fail with a white screen of death. Pioneer has been silent about supporting mine. Look at the 1 star reviews and heed

I've had this unit for 19 months - initially it was a GREAT unit. But it started to have glitches on boot up, nothing would play, hit the reset button and do a factory reset would fix sometimes. After initial glitch, it would work occasionally for about 2 weeks. Now its completely dead. 1 year warranty is long gone - no idea what it would cost to repair. Not the Pioneer quality that I was expecting.
