Nothing replaces good Italian pasta

Was back from a recent trip to Italy and craving Pici pasta. Couldn’t find any locally so ordered this sampler on Amazon that included Pici. Was delicious and now exploring the other types.

This pasta tastes good. It cooks well. Packaged nicely with only a few broken noodles.For me though…. This tastes negligibly different than the same pasta I buy at the grocery store for $2. I can’t justify paying 10 times that for this pasta. Flavor was slightly different than regular cheap pasta, but not drastically better in my opinion.Full disclosure, I am in no way a trained chef! I make fairly simple dishes in my home kitchen that aren’t full of hours of prep work or fancy ingredients, but I can make a good meal. My lack of refined culinary training might be the reason I don’t see a need to splurge on more pricey pasta. In these hard financial times right now, I just can’t justify purchasing this on the regular, and if you’re a home chef just cooking for your family I predict you might feel the same. Maybe save this pasta for a special occasion dinner! But it is not an everyday necessity.
