Dr. Oetker Vanilla Sugar, .32-Ounce (Pack of 6)

I absolutely love this sugar and have been using this specific brand for years. It always comes fresh exactly as pictured. Has a strong delicious vanilla taste and is perfectly sweet for baking, especially cookies. I roll fresh baked Christmas cookies in this as soon as they have cooled, so good! Have never had any issues with this product and am very happy it's on Amazon so no trip to a specialty store is needed. Worth the extra price as long as you don't need a ton of it for a recipe.

I’ve always used regular white sugar for baking. In fact, I’ve never heard of vanilla-sugar until recently. A baking channel influencer uses it. Apparently, this is a common sugar in Germany and other parts of Europe. Can’t find it anywhere in my area of the Midwest/USA. Decided to try it. Added it to granulated white sugar to make chocolate chips; and to banana bread batter. My family asked what I did differently: Adding a couple of tablespoons to a recipe (while deducting a couple of tablespoons of white sugar), added so much depth of flavor. It makes a notable difference! I don’t reduce the amount of vanilla, even though this sugar includes vanilla. It is truly pastries - next level. Highly recommend this vanilla-sugar.Lastly: sugar packets should be enclosed in a sealed plastic wrap like in my photo. My first purchase from this seller, was not. I probably should have returned it, but thought it was the sellers’ mode of shipping. I was wrong. Make sure your packets arrive in a sealed plastic packet.

I needed vanilla sugar in a rush for a recipe and my usual brand (dolcela) was out of stock at my local European Market.I ordered the 6 pack and uploaded a picture of how it arrived. They are packaged together in clear wrap to prevent any moisture from getting in. Upon opening the clear wrap, you can instantly smell the vanilla. Yum! Naturally I had to open a pack for myself and stick my finger in it to taste. Overall it has a good, present vanilla flavor but I do feel the aftertaste tasted a little “fake” and changed from a vanilla taste to an artificial flavor I couldn’t describe. After my quick taste test, it was time to put it to use in some Croatian cookie recipes. They came out great!! The vanilla sugar blended in well with the other ingredients and did not leave an aftertaste with the cookies.PLEASE make sure to read the measurement size/ quantities when ordering. If you are baking a lot, then you will need multiple packs. One pack is less than a tablespoon and most recipes call for about 1-2.The packs are perforated down the center, but still hard to tear. If you aren’t careful, you’ll tear open both sugar packs. To make life easier, use a pair of scissors to separate them before using them.If I had to choose a favorite brand between Dr. Oetker and dolcela... I would choose dolcela. However, I feel this brand is a great backup!

Good for a lot of stuff and smells so good.

I never heard of vanilla sugar before. I received a Scandinavian Christmas traditional cookbook and many baking recipes called for this and we couldn’t find it in the grocery store, so Amazon comes through again. The product was packaged well, no spillage and the quantity is more than we will use this Christmas. Last year we baked without this specific product using only regular sugar, anxious to see how the recipes turn out with this!

I actually have enjoyed this product since finding it here. I’d never have gotten this bc of Amazon. I’ve used this for years and years and years but I have loved this every since I’ve found it here on Amazon but I’ve used this for over 6 years and I use it a lot now. It’s nice for me and I will continue using
