They Start Fires! And It's Easy!
So far, I have never had a serious need to have a bushcraft firestarter of any kind other than a lighter. However, I really like to tinker at camp, and these things are pretty awesome for that.First of all, I think these would be pretty awesome in an actual survival situation. They are easy to use, easy to light, and extremely effective. I ordered the larger kit here because I really wanted the travel tin, and now that I have it, it will accompany me on all my backcountry trips. While I don't "need" a fancy firestarter, these certainly make the job of starting a fire much much easier. You just bend them in half and pull them apart to expose the fluff. Then you can easily light the fluff with a spark from a fire stick. viola! You have a small sustained fire for about 5 minutes while you pile on your tinder and kindling. Overall, these are pretty great. They work well, and the accessories that come with it are very nice.They are slightly more expensive than a lot of other firestarters, but with these, you're supporting a small cottage brand and getting an incredibly useful and effective item. I'll be ordering more of the plugs when I run out of what I have for sure!

Every bit of what they're advertised to be!
I bought these in case of an emergency for an elk hunting trip in the mountains this fall. I looked around online at all the different ones and these looked like the best to me. I figured if they were half as good as they were advertised to be they'd be good enough but after trying them they are absolutely everything they're advertised to be. Definitely the thing to have in your pack in case of emergency or even to take camping in case your lighter craps out or something.

Hard to light
It will not light with a striker. It barely lights with a lighter. It smothers out easily.
