The Power of Your Words Paperback – August 14, 2009

Clearly this book was written for me! I have wrestled with the problem of putting my foot in my mouth for a lifetime, both verbally and in the written version. My vocabulary is extensive, but having used it in all the wrong ways shames me before God. This review is not about my shameful past, but the reality that there is a way to right this wrong, to change myself now with the help of the Holy Spirit. I took notes, I cried, I prayed, I found so many answers as to why my prayers have failed. I saw my hypocrisy, my poor example as a Christian, and the raw pain of reality that I was not using the precious gift of my tongue to glorify the Lord, but to push my own 'righteous' agenda in my personal and professional life. This book spoke directly to my heart as if the Holy Spirit Himself was whispering in my ear, "Pay attention!" And I did! My spirit is completely transformed with hope. Though the Lord has resided in my heart all of my adult life, it wasn't until now, at the age of 68, that I've come to realize how disobedient I have been due to my 'tongue'. Ironically, I knew this, yet I avoided curbing my bitter words and would not stop being so brutally honest to family and friends. Another point made by the pastor was this quote, "Winners never quit!" Past failures have dogged me forever, and these three beautiful words completely enveloped me with hope. Three words! That's all it took! This is the fourth book written by the author that I have read, and I have garnished valuable spiritual excitement with every one. But this one book particularly consumes me with the knowledge that it is okay to utter in the spiritual 'tongues' that I have stifled during prayer. It's okay to have bizarre out-of-the-blue thoughts from the Holy Spirit about things to come. The dreams I've had are truly spiritual enlightenment. But most importantly, experiencing an all-consuming peace of mind as I pray, knowing that the Holy Spirit is really patting my back as He listens. I know God is with me everywhere, comforting me when I am in tears, alone, and afraid. But this book provides a path through prayer to help me ascend and properly use my God-given talents in the right way at the right time. This is a huge eye-opener for anyone spiritually conflicted, uncertain, or beating themselves up, as this author assures that you are not alone and God's helping hand is there to get you through all of your life challenges. Amazing words of wisdom from a Pastor guided by the Holy Spirit! Wonderful! Thank you for this insight!

Makes you more aware of what has, what is and what should be coming out of your mouth. God provides all that we need to live a fulfilled and happy life.

I am always curious about what other authors have to say about words and Mr. Morris has a lot to say and its all good information for all of us to take hold of. So many people don't realize how they have hurt their children by saying whatever is on their minds if only they would think before they would speak. Sure our parents have done the same but hopefully most of them were kind with their words, encouraging and with love. Well anyway today is no different because so many people of all different walks of life are missing the boat. We got slang and we got ghetto and we got teenagers whose languages I don't even know what they are saying forget about what they mean. Mr. Morris gives great insight to how words can impact your life for the better. Even when you speak you can speak better and think better because you are more aware of your words. Even God said renew your mind, you will bless your life with goodness with a positive outlook on life when you learn to speak truth.

I thoroughly enjoyed this most insightful, encouraging, enriching, empowering, equipping, and life transformational book. Pastor Morris I don't know you personally, but I bet you to please keep listening to GOD and keep writing under the clear unction, power, & anointing of the Holy Spirit. Well thought out, and well written book for anyone, whether a Christian or not. Too easy to forget the power of our words, indeed. How many of us have said things, and regretted it? This would be a good book for anyone age 14-15 all the way senior years. For a Christian, some excellent study points.

This book really helped me to understand the power of words good and bad. My pastor spoke on this subject often. This book emphasized what he preached for years! "Life and death is in the power of the tongue'.
