Wood Technology Kitchen Appliance Lift, White, with Self-Locking Spring Mechanism for Heavy Appliance Storage and Space Savings

Although it has a limited weight capacity of 45lbs I give it 5 stars for it's usefulness, price, and the ability to be mounted under a drawer. The review of other comments was helpful with the installation approach. A couple things I did during the installation that I wanted to pass along. 1.) When I mounted each bracket, I used the supplied template but positioned the brackets so that the shelf had a slight upward tilt when open to compensate for the weight of the mixer. 2.) Folks mention the difficulty with attaching the springs. A small wire hook to grab the springs came with the assembly parts. I found it much easier to attach the spring if the bracket was moved to the full open position. It takes a little muscle but I had no issues with it. 3.) The last thing I did was to add a handle on the bottom of the shelf so that it made it easier to grab when pulling it out of the cabinet.There were no issues with the shelf wanting to swing back out once pushed back into the cabinet as noted by some folks. All in all, my wife was very happy with it.

Love the shelf! The installation went well thanks to reviewers tips. It took awhile to install, but I didn't hear a single curse during the installation. Our cabinets have a frame so we had to add a piece of plywood to each side to clear the cabinet doors. The included template worked great but somehow the left bracket is 1-5/8" from the cabinet front and the right is 1-3/4" from the front. This may (or may not) be causing the locking mechanism to not lock both sides at the same time when lifting (and that's why 4 stars instead of 5. I would give it 4.5 if I could.) I found that if I locked the right side first (gently lift the right side a little higher until you hear the click) then lock the left side it works fine. Unlocking works fine. Just lift both sides until you hear the click. It softly lowers itself into the cabinet.Bonus - There's just enough space under the shelf to store my griddle!FYI : one of the pictures show the big model of the kitchenaid mixer being stored with the mixer parallel to the side of the cabinet. When I tried storing my smaller kitchen aid mixer that way, it hit the cabinet frame when lifting. I turned the mixer sideways (parallel to the front of the cabinet) and it easily (but just barely) clears the cabinet frame. (Even if my cabinet was frameless, I think it would still hit.) Storing it that way reduces the readily accessible space in the cabinet, which meant I had to find a new home for the breadmaker (previously stored next to the mixer on the fixed shelf). But it's so worth it to not have to dead lift this heavy mixer from the fixed shelf up onto the cabinet.I would buy this mechanism again!

While this product appeared to be great find because it would allow for an appliance shelf lift in a cabinet with a draw above, it has become one of the worst purchases ever. I have great tool skills and the installation is virtually impossible. Per the instructions, lining up the brackets in the cabinet is only easy if you have the type of cabinet in the instructions, which do not account for the spacing at or near the hinges. However, this is not the worst part. After the brackets are installed I challenge anyone to install the springs on the brackets. These are very taut springs that need to be stretched for the brackets to work. Absolutely a stupid design for any consumer product. Calling the company for assistance is useless.

Very sturdy and well engineered design. You will need a cabinet that has sturdy sides on it or construct a box that can withstand the weight.I ordered the product with the table board and it would have been nice to know the exact width of the hinge with the table as it was designed for. Not a big deal as i had to do custom sides anyway but it would have saved some design and measuring time. I am very pleased with the outcome.

Went in easy except for he spring. Luckily we had a real spring tool. Works great I put my kitchen aid mixer on it.
