i have two of these and both inner straws just won’t stay attached am I doing something wrong?

Can I submerge in hot water to heat milk?

I have put warm milk inside it, with no problems. And put in dishwasher on hot cycle with no issues. Can't see there being an issue.

It is really hard to suck liquid up. Did I put the cup together wrong maybe?
