Can u use in polycarbonate greenhouses ?

I have one in my 10’x6’ greenhouse not a problem you can control heat a little by turning wick up an down

There are no screws and there weren't any in the box either

It was rubbish, the fumes killed my lands.

Can you use in a cold frame wooden greenhouse?

It depends on the height of your cold-frame the chimney on the heater is about 18 inches tall and would need clearance of a good 18 inches as the chimney gets very warm

There is a 'lever' with a split pin on the opposide side to the wick adjustment wheels. What is this for please? Our instructions were illegible

It's a "SNUFFER", to extinguish the flames. I don't use mine as it tends to push down on the wicks and image to use tweezers to get them back up again. Re poor instructions - leave 2cm space at top when filling with paraffin. Adjust the wicks until you get a non flickering flame. Hope this helps.
