It's appropriate for fall and spring weather, not thick enough for winter. But the material is soft and comfy.

These tights “feel good” and are soft. My granddaughter struggles with wearing many kinds of pants, saying they are “spikey”. She has only allowed us to put these tights on her since I got them. They also ease the itchiness of her eczema. Fabulously designed and I’m grateful to see her relieved of pain. We got a size 6-7, as she wears a size 6 and is 40 pounds. They are a bit big, but that is preferred.

I bought two pairs of these for my 5yo son to wear at home on cold winter days (and also under pants when we travel to cold places). They are a little big now, so I would say perfect fit for 5-6 years old, but they may or may not fit when he's 7. Washed once and didn't see shrinking. They seem so comfortable I would recommend them.
