I ordered this dash cam after researching and trying to find one that would fit my 2022 TRD ORP 4 runner. I did not want to add an additional camera to the front windshield, so this cam was the perfect fit. It replaces the OEM TSS covering. The app took some time to get use to using, but the footage and camera quality are impressive. The overall installation took use 15 minutes following the YouTube installation video. I would definitely recommend the FITCAMX.

I just installed it and it looks great, quality is great and app easy to use. OEM looks was what I was looking for and for this is worth the price.Instalation was a PITA but with patience it's totally doable, other reviews are right that the cable is hard to route, timewise it was like 30 mins, the finish product is very good defenetly recommended

I’ll have to give a follow up after a couple months of usage. Installation wasn’t smooth. Even though it is pretty much plug and play, getting all the additional wire to fit was awful. It took several attempts to figure to do it all the while trying to be extremely gentle with the fragile looking plastic tabs that need to snap in place.Setting up on IOS was a breeze. No issue. I am using a 128GB Samsung card and am able to do 3min loops at 4K. It looks really good. Remember to take the protective film off the lens too.5-14-22: The quality of video is impressive. No issues to report. Only challenge is vehicle has to be on to download and at 4K it takes time and mobile data to do.

2021 4runnerLikes:installs easily, simple wire connections, looks like it belongs there, no dangling wires, easily wires up to the existing wires without cutting or splicing. not noticeable.dislikes:I had slight issues connecting my android phone but in the end it linked up. the i-phone was simpler. As others stated, the hood is shown more than I would like but it is still very good. Must use the phone to set-up the camera. Suggest one watches the set-up videos all over the net to simplify the install.other notes:the unit I bought is not motion sensitive, IE it does not power up when someone/something walks by.it IS designed to lock the video in case of a crash, not sure how sensitive that is. I am well pleased with the unit and have recommended it to my family. Also, if you wanted to "see" what the camera sees and you have an old phone, you could connect that phone to the wi-fi and have a monitor, just a thought.

I would not recommend this product to anyone. The customer service was unhelpful and frustrating to deal with, especially when trying to resolve issues like the camera not recording properly or skipping important events. I’ve owned three of these cameras, and none of them lasted more than a month. The reliability is simply not there. Save yourself the hassle and invest in a different brand with better support and performance.

I don't know about the 1 star reviews that this product is getting, but I use this dashcam on all of my cars, and I never had issues installing it on my 4Runner, it takes less than 2 mins to install this dashcam, and it looks clean and oem look, no wires to run from the headliner down the the aux power, I attached the pictures and the steps how i installed it properly.remove the factory cover, then transfer the red clips to the FitcamX.Unplug the factory harness, then plug in the harness from FitcamX to the module, then plug the factory harness to the FitcamX harness, then tucked it in as shown in the photo.Place the power source cable in the headliner area, leave it outside of the cover.Easily slide up the FitcamX into place, as you can see the the power cables are sticking out. this is ok.Connect the power cable together.Push it toward the headliner to hide it and out of sight.view from the driver side, as you can see, the cable is not visible at all.

Install was a little tricky but after messing with the wire placement, I was able to get it to work. The video quality looks very good and seems to be working with no problems. I love that it fits into the car seamlessly and you can barely even tell you have a dash cam.

Camera seems solid and instructions were easy to follow, BUT what they don’t mention anywhere or in the video is how difficult it is to get all the wires and new connections stuffed back into the housing. I was looking at their installation video as well as some online and I realized there is a reason why none of the videos show how to get the front camera housing back on due to the difficulty and amount of time spent. They don’t provide any instructions on where to maneuver the wires so there is enough room to close the housing. I only got it to slide back on by improvising and letting the power wire to the camera stick out at the top. So basically I couldn’t get all the wires to go under the housing (after trying for about an hour).
