The price cannot be beat and I think they could be a lot of fun at future parties and events.
Bought these to use for my son's wedding open house. We realized that the hours were not right and that it would not be dark for the open house. However I have turned on about eight of these lights out of the package and all of them worked perfectly. I put one in a balloon last night and when I woke up in the morning it was still lit, although not as bright. Tonight we put some in a couple balloons and put them out in our pool. The kids had a lot of fun playing with them. I put one light in the red balloon and two lights in the green balloon. You can really tell a difference in the balloon with two lights. They are cool to the touch and therefore work fine inside of the balloon. I could see where you could decorate a pool for a party very easily as long as it is dark enough to see the lights. One of the balloons popped and the light sunk to the bottom of the pool. It continued to be lit and actually looked really cool. Even underwater it could be used as a decoration. Overall I was very impressed by these lights and have carried one around in my pocket to show friends. The price cannot be beat and I think they could be a lot of fun at future parties and events.

Great for power outages!
I originally purchased these little lights for decorating a graduation party two years ago, but I have found they really come in handy for other purposes and have reordered several times.1) We have a cabin in the mountains where we have a lot of power outages. I put a string of them in the hallway (on a paperclip) or above the dining table and they light things up pretty well.2) We have a black lab you can't see at night. I put one or two of the lights on his reflective jacket when we take him for a walk. The lights help to locate him in the dark. Also, you can slightly unscrew the connecting cap so you can reuse one light multiple times. I think we get 2-3 weeks of walks out of one light!3) When traveling - I take a few of these lights along. One light serves well as a nightlight and you don't need a electrical coverter if you are traveling internationally. Recently on a trip to Queensland, Australia we had a power outage due to a big storm that hit the coast ...so the little lights sure came in handy again!

Good bluish LED light...might work for you
These are a good quality bluish LED light, and our experience is that they last the 8 hours they are advertised or longer. The lighting strength is not very strong when used in combination with other lighting. We used fishline to tie three lights together so we could easily hang them in the lanterns when the time came to turn them on. To turn them on, all you do is remove the tag and turn the little screw. We were looking for lights to use in paper lanterns for our daughter's wedding and ended up with these. We tried to find lights with more of a yellow hue to match the rest of the lighting rather than the strong bluish light these LED lights produce, but we were unable to find any.In an effort to achieve the yellowish hue, we lightly fingerpainted the bulbs with yellow paint and then tested them out in the paper lanterns in a dark closet, and they seemed to work great. We turned them all on when we hung them at 3:00 for a 6:00 wedding. At 8:00, when it was dark, however, we didn't think they were on, because we couldn't see any light coming from the lanterns. But when we looked up inside the lanterns, we could see that they were on. And, at 10:30, when we were finished cleaning up and turned all the lights off, we could see they were all on.We had also used a combination of white Christmas lights, and there were ceiling fans with lights and runner lights, which may account for these lights in the lanterns not showing up.Would I recommend? It depends... Not for paper lanterns in conjunction with other lighting...they just didn't do anything. But perhaps with this information maybe someone else can have a better outcome?

Young kids, college kids, grownups all enjoyed in variety of uses.
Younger kids, college kids & grown ups loved these. Enjoyed using in jack-o-lanterns, increasing visibility trick-or-treating & fun holiday art projects. The batteries lasted a few days & faded out. Would be nice if there was a way to have longer lived batteries, but I'm pleased that the batteries can be replaced if you want to re-use. On a few, you do have to jiggle & retry screwing on the top to get a solid contact connection. We saved the circuit interrupting dots so we could reinsert them to conserve battery when not in use. On one of the lights I couldn't jiggle or tighten enough to work, I peeled off the plastic encasing the 3 button batteries. When I went back a few weeks later, there was a little corrosion from the batteries, so I'm guessing the plastic wrap on the batteries is important to reduce exposure to humidity, perhaps. The vast majority worked the first time I turned them on & most all of the others worked after a bit of tightening or jostling the batteries around to reposition slightly & tighten cap. Lots of fun, so a good deal for the price.

fun to have!
awesome! at such a good price point. I mean, even if some of the LED lights were duds, the batteries were still useful. haha btw, everyone we have used worked. Some things to note:1. THe light is super bright white LED light. So if you are going for a muted soft glow, this isn't going to work (we tried wrapping tissue around it, etc but it was still real bright). They are so bright you can't look at them for long. SO my original plan to use them as centerpiece our dinner tables.. is not happening.2. If the light looks like its not working, you have to try twisting the 'switch' around in both directions for a bit. This gets the contact points together and it lights up. The 'swtch' isn't the best, some of the lights are quite sensitive and i have accidentally turned it on just by picking it up.again, these are so bright, i think i should just have a cluster of them on a string as emergency lights in the car (although u will need to turn them on one at a time)
