This Book is a Gift to the World - I hope it becomes a key part of Everyone's emotional toolkit.
Susan Campbell has been teaching communication skills to individuals, partners, families, work groups, and social groups for more than half a century. It shows — she knows what she’s doing, and is a brilliant teacher and coach! She has done a superlative job of boiling down decades of experience into clear, easy-to-follow instructions for dealing with irrational, counter-productive reactions (to people or events in our world) that are based on unhealed childhood wounds. She shows how our painful emotional reactions to each other can be used to heal our psyches and hearts — by bringing conscious, compassionate awareness to ourselves, our triggers, and those we work with, live with, and get “triggered” by.I didn’t realize how frequently I get triggered until I read this wonderful book, because I tend to suppress my own reactions and am often not aware of them myself! This book has helped me be so much more tuned in to my own internal process, and has given me tools to heal turmoil that I didn’t realize was going on inside of me. I’m actually looking forward to the next time my husband and I get into a real conflict so that we can work with the brilliant communication tools that this book offers, step-by-step.The first part of the book explains Trigger Reactions and the steps involved in working with them. The second part teaches you to apply these steps and practices to different types of relationships including: with your mate, your children, a friend, as a group member, as a group leader, and in relationship to your social context. This book is a gift to the world —- if all of us learned how to use these tools (and actually applied them in our lives) we would solve most of the problems that plague us today. Thank you Susan Campbell for offering your wisdom and experience to all of us!

Great Book. Came when I needed it The Most!
From Trigger to Tranquility is an excellent book for those of us who seek Self-Knowledge and Inner-Growth. This book gave me new tools to use for recognizing when I’m triggered, what to do when I feel triggered, and what to do to repair the emotional damage I cause in my relationship with others when I’m triggered. I found these tools to be clear, easy to understand, and apply well to my everyday living. When reading this book, I felt that I’m not alone, we all get triggered, and that’s a part of being alive in a fast moving, and emotionally threatening polarities all around us. I sense that the USA has evolved from being “a melting pot” in the 20th Century into being “a boiling pot!” during the Covid-19 pandemic. I hope that we are able to turn down the heat on this “boiling pot” and get along better. Susan’s book can help a lot in recognizing that the boiling-triggers are happening inside each of us -- instead of blaming others for our own “seething-steam!”

My triggers don't define me, I am so much more!
During these uncertain times, where it seems, I'm living in the state of "IMPROV", Dr. Susan Campbell's book, From Triggered to Tranquil, has helped me experience, more deeply with self compassion, the foundational pieces from my early life till now, that have kept a cycle of emotional reactivity alive in me at times. While spending much of the last two years ( Due to Covid) in isolation with my hubby, there have been more opportunties for triggers to get activated among us. Having received Susan's book, has helped us both navigate these events with more clarity and take notice more often from the observers's perspective. At 67, I have a library room full of self awareness books. Having read all of them over the decades, I know synergistically they all had something I needed to read at that perfect time, several beingSusan's other books, " Getting Real, and 5 Minute Relationship Repair".Today, Susan's newest book, is the perfect one for these times, and written with an approach that is so easy to follow and allows self growth, without judgments, which is a welcome gift to someone who has an inner critic that can talk a lot at times. The exercises in this book have brought a calmness to that voice.THANK YOU, DR. CAMPBELL.

Want more love and less strife in your life?
I found this book to be incredible practical and also liberating. Let's face it; we all get upset at times. We all get reactive to other people: our partners, our children, our relatives, neighbors, friends, politicians, strangers, you name it. We get triggered in all sorts of situations and circumstances in life. We're human. It's unavoidable that things won't always go the way we want. And yet, how do we deal with ourselves in our upset in a skillful way?! How do we deal skillfully with others in our upset and/or in their upset, too?! In this book, Dr. Susan Campbell offers extremely clear explanations and powerful tools to help us navigate our lives so that we can have more ease. This book is liberating. I've been a devotee of Dr. Campbell's work for over a decade and it has helped me feel more love, acceptance and equanimity in my life and more connected relationships. I want everyone to read this book and "do their work" so that we can all live more harmoniously together.
