It's durable, looks great, is easy to clean, doesn't impart flavors and best of all doesn't get that weird plastic smell/taste after a while. If you are planning on putting hot or cold drinks in this bottle I would recommend getting one of the insulated models. With cold drinks this bottle sweats really badly and with hot drinks it can become hot enough to burn you. The insulated model: Klean Kanteen Winter Lake Classic Vacuum Insulated Storage with Loop Cap, 20-Ounce on the other hand doesn't sweat at all and the outside of the bottle doesn't change in temperature. The insulated models can keep iced drinks cold for a little over 24 hours and drinks hot for about 12. This particular bottle doesn't keep drinks their intended temperature for very long at all. I also have a slight issue with the cap being hard to take off some times because it gets so tight, but it is leak proof so I think it's worth it. This bottle is great for keeping water with you on the go though. I would recommend this bottle to anyone who is looking for a great everyday water bottle. I like this bottle much more then my previous bottle: Nalgene BPA Free Tritan Wide Mouth Water Bottle, 1-Quart, Slate Blue.

Everyday since I was a teen (33 now) I make sure to drink at least 64 oz. of water a day, if not more. It's just natural to me. And during this time, I have gone through a TON of different water bottles...Nalgene, Aquasana, etc...I got away from Nalgene because I started trying to avoid all plastic...I strayed from Aquasana because I am so damn hard on my bottles. Aquasana has neoprene carriers but I still broke 2 glass bottles.I've had klean kanteen before, in my early 20's but they didn't have anything bigger than a 32 oz. Until I recently started hunting again through amazon and found this one and I am so excited! I love that I don't have to keep refilling it throughout the day, the size is perfect! Love the loop lid, perfect for dangling on my fingers, love that it comes in colors, and most of all....it's pretty much indestructible! It's great for the environment and my health.This product is beyond worth it! KK has a customer for life, I'll never stray again!

I like that this sized stainless steel container is available in multiple colors. There are 3 people in my household and we have to have a different color for each one of us. The mouth is wide enough to get an ice cube through the opening (but not a mixer ball --- see the wide mouth container if you are going to use the container to mix protein drinks). The negative reviews about the oil smell are correct. Using the advice from one of the customers, I heated water in a stock pot and added some Dawn soap. When the water got really hot (not boiling), I put the container in the water (not the lid) for about 3 minutes. (It did not take any of the paint off.) I used a pair of tongs to dip the lid in the soapy water about 10 times. After about 3 minutes, I took the container out of the water and hand washed it in some dawn soap, rinsed it and no smell!! The smell would have been a deal breaker for me because I am super sensitive to smells. Many thanks to the customer who gave that suggestion. This is a very good quality stainless steel product and I could not find a product that was better.

I have had many water bottles before and most of them just get put in the cupboard and never see the light of day again. Either they have a bad aftertaste or are just simply a pain to clean out. This water bottle doesn't have any of those issues and I'm proud to say is starting to show some wear and tear on the outside.I mostly use it for water but occasionally put Gatorade or some other soft drink in it. Removing the residual leftover drink is as simple as running some water through it, no getting out the dish soap and bottle scrubber to make sure everything it gone so your next batch of water doesn't taste like watered down Gatorade.When I do clean this out must of the time I just squirt a little dish soap in with warm water and shake it with the top on then rinse it thoroughly. As that's about all the cleaning I think this thing really needs.I would say if you are fairly active like I am go and spend the 3-5$ on a sports cap to make drinking out of this extremely easy instead of having to unscrew the three turns it takes to remove the original cap.I have owned mine for about 9 months now and use it daily it has some dents from where I have dropped it an light scratches around the outside now but nothing very noticeable from the brushed stainless.I love my klean canteen and have purchased my wife one and have another on the way.
