We use this as a motion monitor for our elderly mom's bedroom not as a door bell. We have the sensor secured in her room approx. 1 foot from the ground and the other item that lights and chimes is in our room. It easily wakes us up if she gets out of bed & there is motion in her room. It provides peace of mind so we can rest. Great item.

This is being used for an elderly person with limited mobility and at fall risk. The sensors work well to detect when they attempt to get up. We used one under the bed and it catches when they swing their feet down out of bed. We used the other sensor as a backup to that one at a little further out spot. The alarm is loud and great. It wakes very tired caregivers up perfectly! This has been a huge help. We are resting better, relying on the alarm to wake us as needed.

Faster shipping than similar units, and it includes two motion sensors for monitoring two areas.Purchased to monitor an Alzheimer's patient on Hospice care. We tried a Hospice-supplied bed alarm, but it went off every time she rolled over and the alarm was right on the bed. Mounted high or set on a tall piece of furniture this unit picks up all motion in the room. We chose to mount it at floor level, so it only goes off when Mom starts walking toward the door.Now we can actually sleep through the night without worrying that we need to check on her. No false alarms. We carry the receiver to our bedside at night and living area during the day.Receiver is programmed from factory to say, "(Ding-Dong) Hello! Welcome," twice. And it is LOUD! But there are three alarm settings and four volume settings. We chose the musical alarm with no voice, and set it at the lowest level. That's enough to wake the light sleepers without being jarring. After the alarm sounds, multi-color lights flash for a couple of seconds. That helps to answer the question, "Did I really just hear that, or was I dreaming?" The receiver can also be set to use only the light display, no sound.You will have to experiment to find the best location. I used painter's tape to hold the bracket to the baseboard. The unit comes with double sided pressure sensitive adhesive mounts. Once you use that, there is no moving it--the adhesive won't come off the wall without a fight. At first, we left it on the floor without mounting, but Mom would pick it up and put it in a drawer. We chose to use two small screws in the baseboard--problem solved!The units also have an LED warning when battery is low, but we are very pleased with battery life as well. If you mount it near an outlet the units can use a USB power supply instead of batteries.Excellent price, quick shipping, and very sensitive. It rings when we need it to do so, and can be aimed so it does not ring when we don't need it.I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

I love everything about this product except for how loud it is on its lowest setting. I have to bury it under blankets to muffle the sound. But it still wakes me up when my dad wanders at night.
