I just purchased the adaptor as I had my own hose. Looking back, it probably would have been better to purchase the whole kit. It works really well, but I don't use it with the tap on. Once it is syphoning, I turn the tap off as to not waste water. It's not as quick, but I don't want to trash the planet or run up my water bill. Really great product, especially for getting the temperature correct before adding water back into the tank.

I can’t get this to fit any of the 5 faucets in my house. This was a waste of money. I thought I could just add this to my hose I already have for aquarium water changes, but it just doesn’t work with any of my faucets. Looked at home improvement store for an adapter but nothing fits this thing.UPDATE, after reading my review, I was refunded for my purchase even though I was past the return window. I’m still sad this didn’t work for me, I’m sick of hauling buckets of water for water changes in my aquariums, but I’m very grateful they were willing to help me with my purchase.

This works, I used it to connect to a 1/2" ID x 5/8" OD tube that I already had. I was able to hook this up to my faucet and suck water out of my tank. But, I had to leave my sink running full blast in order to syphon the water out of the tank. The plastic connectors are cheap. Probably better to upgrade to the metal ones for a few bucks more.Giving it 4 stars because I had to leave my sink running full blast in order to syphon the water from my tank. On a 75 gallon tank that is a long time to leave the water running. I probably will not use it because of that.

This is a better product than the old waterbed drain and fill kits! I love the brass hardware, & know it’s not going to wear out, or get damaged if cross threaded . I use it mainly to drain my 40gal tank. I have added a syphion to the end of the plastic tubing (you have to buy both the tubing and syphion), I added enough tubing that I can hook it up to the hose out by a peach tree, and drain it there, as soon as I turn on the water it starts the process no starting the syphion process manually!!I love it!

This has become an absolute game changed for my turtle aquarium. Way easier and quicker than the electric pumps I've tried in the past.
