So far so good!
Loving it so far! It was a bit hard to get on due to the fact that we are in a mobile home. But it's up and now we're waiting for rain and snow. I will update this review as things progress so you all will know what I think. The directions for putting the awning together sucked. My husband was able to get it but it took a lot of fiddling and fidgeting to get it good. So far it's holding up to some really pretty gusty winds. We live in Indiana and have a whole bunch of different weather types. We'll go from flooding and thunderstorms to ice and hail and snow! We're looking like we're going to have a bad winter so it will be interesting how the awning holds up to the snow.I mostly wanted this awning because I have a wheelchair ramp and it's flush with my door which means the rain comes right into my house on my hardwood floor. No matter how many sweeps we tried on the door. So we decided to try an awning because it would keep the rain from dripping and puddling on the ramp in front of the door and hopefully keep things drier inside! But I will update after rain and after snow and after about 6 months. So stay tuned

know ahead of time what to do to be successful to install this
OK its inexpensive and it is nice... but you will read it is a challenge to install. Here are a few tips.At first I had difficulties (as you read other reviews you may notice the same)I ordered 2 kits... only one was shipped at first... Quick communication with seller they fixed the problem and shipped the missing unit.I subsequently ordered 2 more since they were a good company to deal with. The first kit was horrible to install at first... See picture #4 not all pieces were cut at the same length, I had to get a pair of tin snips to fix the problem... So Set it up first on the ground to make sure everything fits.Install only one section at a time... You would be best advised to use two people.. this is not easy for one person (although by the end of set #3 I am able to do it by myself. But only out of necessity and not by choice or easily.)Mounting hardware.. at first I used the supplied units drilled holes.. my ignorance on how these things bolts worked were an issue. Drill the holes and tighten allowing them to expand. yes it is possible (But not easy) to remove after as well. I instead used cement plugs and larger bolts available to me since I live in a hurricane zone and I like to mount things very durable.Saying this... my brackets may now survive a hurricane, but I doubt the panels would. I doubt any panels would of course.I would not buy more expensive units than these as they do the job, & they look nice. I note that made from plastic and in the sun they will yellow and fade in color but I can see no options other than expensive heavy metal ones (that you would likely need to often paint as well) and honestly once they are installed you don't want to be taking them down every year to paint anyways.

Corrugated plastic does not work outside.
Corrugated plastic does not work. Condensation forms inside. Algae and moss then grow inside. Ugly after six months. Disintegrated after 3 years.

Great product - Easy to build/install.
We bought this to put up over our front door that exits our great room. It was extremely easy to put together and with two people, fairly easy to install.I've never used bolts like this before. The top three went in w/o a problem but the three bottom ones never got tighter. I wish I had used other bolts instead. I chose to supplement the three bottom ones with long wood screws going into the exterior wood under the siding.Once awning was in place I ran a bead of silicone sealer along the top back edge where the awning rests against the house.Even though the clear acrylic sheets slide into the grooves of the supports, self-tapping screws are provided to ensure they don't pop out.I feel confident that this awning will work well to keep rain off the area. We'll see how well it works!Glad we purchased this unit, for the price it's hard to beat.PS - August 6: Today, the day after we installed the awning, we had a solid rain storm. Even though the deck got somewhat wet under the awning, the door itself and wall near door, remained dry. That's what we were hoping for :D
