This rod building motor setup works well for applying and drying rod finish epoxy
I like this machine very much for building fishing rods. I use it for applying and drying the epoxy coating on thread wraps and signatures. What I like - It is reasonably priced, good quality and it works well while also being very quiet compared to most other rod turning motors. The speed range from very slow to 66RPM is decent for both applying (20-66rpm) and drying (6-10rpm). I do think many other people would prefer a top speed up to about 200rpm for epoxy application. I was concerned about the rubber band mounting system but it has worked pretty well in practice. I also like the height adjustable two roller bearing support, but it would be even better to have two of them. One improvement that would really work for me is to re-program the foot switch so that pressing on the switch stops the motor instead of starting it. That way I can use the switch to temporarily stop the rod from turning so I can work some epoxy around the guide feet. A good, reasonably priced product.

Works as expected
This seems well built, it’s easy to set up and operate. Many speak of the rubber bands that are used to hold the rod blank in the spinner, but it really isn’t an issue, it’s sufficient and it’s shipped with lots of spares. Worth the money in my opinion.

Inexpensive and easy to use, ive wrapped 3 rods so far and workiing good

A bit higher in price for the quality but it does work. Took way too long to receive & had to have 1st one replaced as damaged & did not work.

Chuck is inconvient
Chuck is inconvient and almost worthless as is, luckily it can be adapted easily

Excellect customer service.
This company responded to and resolved a minor technical issue within hours. The product is well built and works as intended.

Poor Quality
Motor is very weak, chuck is total garbage. First use it quit working and to manually assist it to start turning.

Overall it does the job perfectly, my one thing is I wish they could do something a little better with the rod turner the way it secures the rod in place, but definitely doesn’t it a deal breaker
