After a descent amount of research, I found this to be the most powerful grinder DeWalt offers. You will not bog this grinder down. This thing has an unimaginable amount of power. Currently I'm using it with a 7\" grinding disc and I'm able to remove massive amounts of metal fast and with ease. My 10AMP 4.5\" grinder is super powerful, but wears me out when I need to remove alot of material. This 15AMP 7/9\" beast makes my job a whole lot easier.The tool features an adjustable trigger grip too. It rotates when you use the grinder at different angles. It uses a very reliable type of latch mechanism to lock the grip in what ever position you rotate it to.This grinder is worth eavery penny to me. I'm an extremely proud owner. I love tools that work hard and don't slow me down but rather speed me up. If you want to use grinding wheels without a threaded hub, you have to buy the adapter pieces seperately as well as the wrench to tighten them. Also the description said that the grinder came with a carrying bag, but I received no bag with mine and the box I received was sealed at the factory.I use Amazon for most of my purchases and update my reviews if anything changes with the products. I do this so other Amazon users can get a real feel for the life of the product. You can look at my review which will be close to my purchase date and tell how the product is doing as time passes. The size, heft, and horsepower of this tool is certainly up for the task. This is no lightweight tool and any user, particularly if you are going to have this tool in your hands for any length of time had better be up for the task. You will need a lot of arm strength. It weighs 14 pounds! I particularly like the ability to rotate the trigger barrel to accommodate different cutting and grinding angles. Some reviewers mentioned the two prong plug as being out of character with this Pro-level tool but it does not affect performance IMO. Your hands should only come into contact with plastic surfaces during use so it is not an electrical hazard without having the third ground wire. My plug came slightly bent out of the box but a pair of pliers and a twist and all was okay again. The electrical cord is 7 and a half feet long and very large gage. No problems there. My issue is with Dewalt's marketing of this tool. As noted by other reviewers, this tool comes with two protection guards ( a 7\" and a 9\"), a soft mount disk, and a screw on handle grip. Anticipating the lack of accessories I ordered the Type 1 flange set (D284932 -$10). When I got the tool and the flange set I found out that you also need a two pronged spanner wrench from Dewalt to use the flange set (61820-01 - another $8 plus $7 S&H). But the real issue for me was this tool is marketed as a 7\" and 9\" grinder. I purchased a Bosch 9\" diamond wheel to cut my stone when I purchased this Dewalt grinder. When I tried to mount the diamond wheel on the tool using the 9\" protection guard provided by Dewalt, it doesn't work. I went back and studied the Dewalt DWE4599N manual and sure enough you need a third type of wheel guard. This guard is a Type 1 guard (D284931 - $53). Yes $53! And this guard is only 7\". Dewalt does not make a 9\" Type 1 wheel guard. So I have a brand new Bosch 9\" diamond wheel for sale. There are at least two more \"accessories\" that you have to buy to be able to use this tool for other grinding wheels. I am disappointed with the lack of transparency by Dewalt when it comes to what we as users have to buy extra to actually use this tool. You may be better off looking at a Bosch 7\" grinder given that this Dewalt has limited 9\" uses. The basic tool is offered at $153, but with \"accessories\" you can easily end up at $231 or more.8/10/2014 Follow to my post of July 18, 2014. When I received my 7 inch Type 1 blade guard I was surprised to receive the flange set (D284932) and the two pronged spanner wrench (61820-01) included in the box. Cutting isn't much faster at all than with a smaller grinder with a thin disc.
