It now works very well so far. Took a couple tries to notice why some cuts were not straight and turns out the paper guide bar is not straight. In the picture it lines up in the middle but the tops and bottom are not flush so that was my issue. Once I made some adjustments to cater for this I am now getting even cuts.

I had been looking for a guillotine for quite a while like many others that have come looking for one. Figured i’d find a good deal during Prime Day, that’s when i bumped into this heavy duty guillotine.Placed my order without overthinking it, but i wish i had. As another reviewer posted, i too received a guillotine with dirt marks, fingerprints, scratches & peelings around the metal body of the guillotine. Typical wear and tear signs you’d see on a used item, when things are new.. they should be pristine and in perfect condition for what one pays. The gridded platform was also scratched from where the squaring arm was repeatedly used from moving back n forth. It was evident this guillotine was not new. I ignored the review assuming the odds it would happen to me were zero.Two cuts on a small textblock were made, resulting in a slight curved cut and not straight. I’m assuming the blade has also been worn out. The lock in paper guide was not level either, i had to adjust it.All in all, i was not satisfied for what i paid. The negatives outweigh the positives. The guillotine is decently weighty but not heavy heavy, it just hurts to move it due to the bottom edges of the metal bodied guillotine digging into your palms.I will be returning it although it’s quite a hassle when it comes to items like these. It’s not worth trying to exchange it when i might just get the same exact problem on the next one. Apologies ahead of time to whomever purchases this guillotine, you might receive this one. Think about it.. when i return it.. it goes to an Amazon warehouse where it will most likely be re-packaged and slapped with a “NEW” sticker then shipped to you, it’s a shame. I should have been allowed to get a refund and toss it in the trash to stop the vicious cycle.*sigh*I have been looking around for a different guillotine and all these listed seem to be the exact generic item, just re-branded. It’s quite annoying. But i have come up on a guillotine that has a better squaring arm mechanism, and locking mechanism.. so fingers crossed i get a brand new one rather than a used return.Good luck to future buyers!

Unfortunately, this has been one of the biggest waste of money I have invested into my business in the past few years. It does not cut straight. I have tried everything I know along with watching YouTube videos and still cannot get it to cut straight. This is so disheartening and frustrating.Oh yeah, it also arrived damaged.

While I wish this item would of worked out it didn’t for me. It’s hard to get the right measurements that might be user error but the paper shifted every time if I didn’t bring the press down tight enough and if I did that it would leave indentations on my sheets. The lever had some black dust coming out of it every time I made a cut which was weird. I wish it would of worked out but for cutting a bunch of notepads in batches they always ended up being different sizes.

I have lusted after this style of cutter for many years but just could not justify the cost. Many of the cutters didn't have good reviews and I didn't want to be disappointed and go through the hassle of returning it.I found this version and saw that the reviews were good and that the price was very reasonable. I used some gift cards I received and purchased it. As stated by others it is heavy so put it where you want it and keep it there unless you can talk a strong family member into moving it for you.It lines up and cuts like a knife through soft butter. I have cut through hundreds of sheets all the way down to 5 sheets at a time. I can cut a huge piece or the tiniest sliver off the edges of my stack of papers.It comes with extra parts which is one of the most awesome reasons I chose this particular cutter. I tuck them under the printer so I won't lose them. They fit perfectly under it and I know I won't lose them.I am very happy that I finally have purchased this cutter. I have had it for a few months now and use it more often than I thought I would. I hardly spend anytime trimming my pages down for journals and they are all the same size. No more cutting one or two pages at a time for me!

I was hesitant to purchase since there were no reviews, but decided to take a chance since it looks like just about every other one on here for sale. I'm not disappointed at all. I've used it several times to cut and haven't had any trouble getting everything trimmed the first time. It comes with an extra cutting base (?...not sure what it's called) and usually when people complain about the blade not cutting anymore, it's due to this piece being worn down, so it was nice to have an extra included. At some point you will have to sharpen the blade, or replace it. That's just what happens when you cut paper. How many of you grew up with a mom that sews and would come after you if you touched her sewing scissors to paper? Same idea. Paper dulls blades over time. The included instructions were great and it also came with an extra nob and base feet. If anything changes I'll be sure to update, but so far after a few weeks and multiple uses I have no complaints, it works perfect.Update: March 2023 and still a great cutter! No complaints.

I got this to trim the edges of my journals I make for my business. It took a bit of trial and error for me to personally get them how I wanted, but now that I know where to place my journals, this is amazing! Well worth the investment. Cuts through quite a bit at once, and I love that it has safety features, plus extra blades.
