After purchasing a video camera I decided to get a spare battery with extra life. And, of course, it would need a charger. Yes, it can be charged through the camera, itself, but I much prefer a stand alone charger. Occasionally I hear about batteries suddenly burning up, and if it's going to happen with mine, I don't want it attached to the camera while it's charging.In loading the camera software into the computer I was encouraged to look at the manufacturer's accessories and was shocked to see the $99 price tag for a simple charger. I looked in other places and found the same thing. Then I came across this one at half the price. It's well-made and functions perfectly. It does what the very expensive chargers do. Whether it will last as long, I don't know, but I have never had any problems with other cheaper camera batteries and chargers bought in the past.

This was a great deal and makes charging our camcorder batteries so much easier! It really is an excellent item to have if you own a JVC Everio camera. We own two batteries, a BN-VG114 and a BN-VG121. This charger works for both batteries and makes life just a little less complicated for having a fully charged camera ready to go when we need it. We can plug it in to the car or the wall at home. It's fantastic and a super bargain!

I purchased two of these chargers in order to charge multiple batteries for my camcorder at the same time. I was a bit frustrated at first because the tabs were too wide and wouldn't allow the battery to seat properly. I eventually broke the tabs on one side and the battery fit just fine and the other side's tabs held the battery in place while it charged. I let it charge overnight, so I can't say how long it took before I got the green light, but I'd say no more than 6-8 hours. I have a trip to Hawaii coming up, so it'll be a real test to see if these chargers can keep up with my needs.

I got this to charge my back-up batteries for my camera and it works great. With this I am able to keep my camera batteries charged at all times and that is what I got it for. I have 3 batteries and with this I am able to keep them charged at all times just by swapping them out, and I love the fact you can charge them in house or in your vehicle.Charge On!!!

Very good backup to the first charger

This is an inexpensive charger so one shouldn't expect much. That's about how it worked out for me. The Amazon listing doesn't list current rating or time to charge a battery. With a new Kapaxen BN-VG138U DATA battery rated at 4200mah a full charge takes 5 to 6 hours. The charger is not marked with a current rating. It appears that a higher charging rate would be possible with this battery as it barely gets warm. A better (faster) solution is badly needed as a 6 hour charge cycle would be unworkable in any real world situation, even with multiple batteries. This and other similar chargers take longer to charge the battery (of any rating) than the camera takes to run it down.

I purchased a small video camera and needed an extra battery. I realized the current set-up I had allowed the battery to only be charged in the camera, thus defeating the purpose of an extra one. This charger solved the problem. It is compact with folding prongs to plug into a wall and comes with a car charger adapter. The battery charges quickly. I can find no fault with this product.

Does not work with VG114U. I see no reason to advertise working with batteries that it's not compatible with... that just wastes my time and creates low ratings for the product.
