Daiwa...of course!!!
The Saltist MQ LT is a beast of a reel made for bringing in big fish. Fishing in saltwater is tough on gear, Daiwa figured it out. Low maintenance, smooth action and looks good in the hand. Not only will you look good on the water, bringing in the fish will be a breeze. No creaking when landing the 80 pound groupers in the boat

This reel in 6000 size is similar to Penn Spinfisher V in 5500.
First larger Daiwa spinning reel I’ve bought. Has done great on surf and nearshore and has pulled in multiple slot to overslot/ bull redfish drag was smooth as butter the whole time. Reeling is smooth and crisp. Bail arm has a very crisp and secure sound when engaged after a cast. Aesthetically it looks pretty good too. Would buy another and probably will down the line to add to my surf rods.

Slippery handle
PRO- I’m a woman and have dainty wrists so I love the lightness of this reel. I mostly surf cast for stripers, so far it’s held up with the saltwater in the coasts of Maine and New Hampshire. Smooth and brings in fish with ease.CON- the handle is SO SLIPPERY when it get wet, which is all the time the way I’m fishing’s I need to try and find a handle to replace this. So far I’ve been using tape to get some grip, but that doesn’t always stay. It’s a pretty big con, not having a good grip reeling in a 30”-40” Striper from the shore.

Very smooth reel
This reel has the torque and is very smooth on the retrieve. I would highly recommend it

Feels amazing
Haven't used it yet.Main gear and pinion gear are both made from Zinc alloy with a stainless shaft. Not thrilled with the zinc but who knows, it's alloyed after all.Someone said these reels ship dry.. someone doesnt know what theyre talking about. Opened er up and shes greased - even ships with a card saying 'may have grease marks on outside of reel, does not affect functionality in any way'. Really looking forward to using er.
