Great deal
Excellent price on DVDs. These are the most effective way to store your data in a solid state. They are specifically engineered to survive and retain their data for 100 years especially the dvd-r type ( that's a - Symbol which means they will work on most svd players and various devices anwritten in once , and "r" instead of "rw" meaning they can only be burned one time. But are much more stable and less likely to loose data, since it doesn't have to be able to erase and rewrite it is free to really carve that data into the disc) don't loose your data to the grid going down,or solar flares or emp incidents. Im never going to lose my family albums, are you trusting a hard drive not the crash? Heck actually , you could even store your Bitcoin wallet in these couldn't you?

Read the Manual!
After ten years of recording on my DVD recorder, it suddenly would not read the Philips DVD-r's I had always used. I assumed my recorder had finally bit the dust so I began searching for a replacement. Little did I know that the DVD recorder I had bought for $165 years ago are now priced around $400-500 new, if you can find one. This had something to do with copyright laws I assume. I looked on craigslist and found one in new condition for $150. Different brand, exact same machine. Mine was a Magnavox, and it's replacement is a Funai. This is not surprising because I believe they are all made by the same company with different branding.Fortunately for me this unit came with all the manuals and what not, and in breaking with tradition, I actually read the instructions for a change. To my surprise it detailed the brand of media recommended for the Funai DVD recorder. There were several, but the one easily available to me was the Maxell DVD-r. Just for kicks, I tried recording on the old faithful Phillips brand DVD-r and the Funai would not read it. Hmmmm. I tried the Maxell DVD-r and low and behold it worked perfectly. Now, I thought, what about my old machine? Would the Maxell media work on it also? The answer is YES.So now I have two machines that work perfectly with the Maxell media. My advice is, READ your manuals. Why my old machine suddenly stopped reading the Phillips media I do not understand. Maybe Phillips changed something in there discs to prevent recording on a recordable disc? That doesn't make sense. Now I only buy Maxell for my recorder(s), and still use the Phillips for my high speed duplicators, which work fine.

That the MAXWELL DISKS "THEMSELVES" are of the highest quality you can get now.
The disks are great, the only kind to buy now that amazon no longer sells their own ... HOWEVER, i have just NOW received the THIRD ( 3rd ) order of them in the 100 disk pack where the package has been tampered with and opened, and the bottom plate has broken off on two of them, not one, that came more intact, but the plastic peeled opena nd when you take the case off it was obviously subjected to someone taking some out... I don't know if they are selling seconds? or their is some internal strike going on in packing and shipping, But i think i am going to have to purchase them elsewhere. Very flimsy packing could be the culprit... but it's three times now. But trust me you are buying the right disk and one of the only ones left to be of good use
