Stitches great on knits
The stitching looks professional. I've only tried on knits so far, does a great job. Great value for money. Compact, doesn't take up a lot of space. I didn't re-thread. I tied on spools of thread and pulled through, cutting thread at needles. Then thread needles. Very fast sewing, but I went slower to create straight lines. Maybe with experience i can sew faster speed. I ordered their hem foot so maybe that will help. Practice adjusting tension on scrap fabric 1st. I use Fray Check to secure stitches so they won't unravel, as I can't figure out how to pull thread through to tie off. LOVE pulling one thread--the lower looper thread-'to remove stitches! Very fast stitch removal, saves tons of time! Sews smooth, not very noisy. You have some noise as it's a machine, but not annoying to me. I watched several videos 1st before using the machine. Also joined support groups on FB which has been very helpful. I do own a serger so I wasn't intimidated by having 3 needles, and adjusting tension, differential feed and pressure. I am pushing 70 years old. If I can learn this machine so can you. Patience and persistence will help!I ordered the model 1500, but received model 1600. I don't think there are any differences. I'm guessing the 1600 is sold by non-Juki dealers???

Love it!
I am VERY happy with this machine. I've had the Brother Cover stitch machine for several years, and although it has worked fairly well I was excited to see this Juki Cover stitch offered. My goal this year is to make most of my everyday clothes -- tees, tunics, dresses, cardigans, leggings -- and I felt that I needed a better experience than the Brother Cover stitch could offer. I've had a Juki serger that has been a dependable workhorse for over 15 years, so I expected the same solid quality from the Juki Cover stitch and I am not disappointed! It does a beautiful job on hems. I've had it for 6 days, and so far I've made a knit dress. I used the Juki Cover stitch for the hem and for stitching bindings on the neckline and armholes -- not one skipped stitch, and sewing over seams was even and easy. It arrived when promised. It was very well packed in its own box, which seemed to rattle around a bit inside a big Amazon box, but no damage. Set up was easy, it comes threaded so I just tied on my own threads and pulled through. I used the default tension (#4 for each thread) and it worked perfectly on my knit fabric.

Amazing machine, so easy to learn!
This is a beautiful, smooth, easy to learn machine. I was torn on which coverstitch machine I wanted to get. I already had a sewing machine and a serger, so a coverstitch machine was the missing piece to have everything I needed to make beautiful clothes. Right out of the box, this machine worked perfectly. I had heard so many negatives about the Brother and Janome coverstitch machines (skipped stitches, issues with tension, etc.). So far, I have had ZERO problems with this machine. It literally feels like I am sewing through butter. It is not too loud of a machine at all. The threading instructions are so easy to follow and I had it threaded within an hour of opening the box. I am so happy I got this machine! I have had no skipped stitches, tension has been easy to set and figure out, and my clothes look great. Stretchy knit fabrics are pulled through evenly and easily. If you're unsure about buying this machine, go for it. I promise you will not regret it!

I love it!
So far, I'm really loving this coverstitch machine. I spent a year debating this purchase, but in the end, I went with the Juki because I love my juki serger and the feedback on the stitch quality for this machine lined up with my feeling about my serger. I could see how the threading might be confusing at first, but since I already have the Juki MO354DE serger, the threading was pretty straight forward...I only got a little confused with the lower looper. I watched a couple of videos before I tried to sew anything with this machine and I think that made finishing off the end and getting the fabric off the machine much easier. (I knew what to expect and it behaved exactly as in the videos.) The quality of my stitches has been superb and I'm really glad I finally got this machine.

Update after owning it a year 👎🏼
It’s now been even longer and I hate this machine. The stitch is so inconsistent. Possibly mine is a dud? I contacted Juki and after a week they said a technician would contact me... it’s been a month and no technician call.2nd post:Now that I’ve been using this for about a year... This machine is almost impossible to keep from tunneling on lightweight fabric. Even with retreading and endless tension adjustments. I’d return it if it wasn’t too late. Bummer because the one I want now is cheaper and one I know would be a better purchase. I end up just using my twin needle on my sewing machine or just a zigzag for knits because the tunneling is so bad. Does fine on heavy weight. 🤷🏼♀️Original post:So far so good! Great little machine. Shipping was really fast and it's been pretty easy to learn to thread. Recommend wholly nylon in the looper and in general quality thread.

It works
4 stars because the corner right past the needles where the plastic shell meets is crushed in. It hasn't effected performance but it also clearly wasn't assembled well/handled with care before I recieved it.

Worked well, for a short while.
When I realized my new sewing business would require my having a coverstitch machine, I bought this one. At first, I had no difficulties setting it up, threading, sewing some nice seams, etc., but when I really had to shorten several knitted tops, I could not get the Juki to run smoothly. The motor would hum and then it would race. I could not control the speed--it was all or nothing. I sent it to Juki's repair person, but by the time it was returned, I was so ill I had to close my business. I don't know yet if the machine works right or not; I left it in its box and haven't used it. If I ever get to use it, I'll let you know if Juki made my purchase worthwhile or not.
