This Ice Scoop replaced a metal (not my best idea) scoop we were using for the ice. The major and definitive difference: no more freezing fingers gripping a metal scoop. ! It is just as sturdy as our previous metal one but with a taper that guides the ice nicely into a tumbler: no more ice all over the floor. Holds an acceptable amount (a cup) of ice. Love it. I just hope it is dishwasher safe for when it needs to be cleaned and samifized.

I wanted an ice scoop with a short handle and it had to be black preferably with a matte finish. With those criteria the search took a while and I did buy another one and send it back before finally settling on this one.My ice bucket is the Corkcicle bucket and so I didn’t want my scoop to be too long or wide, and I didn’t want metal as I didn’t want to scratch the matte silver finish on the inside of my bucket.This scoop is fine, it’s quite thick and sturdy. It shouldn’t chip because the ice will be loose, but I certainly wouldn’t use this to try to break up chunks.I wish Corkcicle made a handsome scoop to match their buckets but as they don’t, this is the next best thing.Quite pleased with my scoop. Would recommend for anyone who doesn’t want a metal scoop.

It's okay, rather large for my needs. It was a little scuffed up when I received it. Unfortunately, I wanted to return the scoop, but learned that although I am a prime member, I would be charged $3.75 to return it. I chose to keep because that's almost half the cost of the item. I guess I learned a lesson.
