This Epoxy Resin set is great for beginners! This was my first time using Epoxy Resin & it was very easy to use! It comes with a great variety of colors. The quality of the finished gems is very nice! They are durable & do not feel sticky. You are able to make several different sizes & shapes of gems & the kit comes with everything you need to make beautiful & colorful jewelry!

Bought this to preserve insects for my grandson. It was a good deal for the price and we will use the other jewelry pieces sometime in the future. I don't see this as a beginner activity for a child but maybe for an adult. There was a pretty good learning curve for getting the insect to stay suspended in the medium while it hardened. So far we have a nice bumblebee and a scorpion. Our grandson is so happy to be able to safely hold and carry around his insect treasures.

I wanted to see if this was something I liked and this kit was great as an introduction to resin crafting.That said, here are the negatives: the molds don't have two of each shape so you have to do two batches to get a pair of earrings made and for a beginner, getting the colour or the pour the same the second time is difficult. Also, the jump rings are kind of big as you can see in the picture with the earring. It would be good to have two sizes. Finally, the hardware is all silver but the leather tassel tops are gold. A small thing but if you were going to use this to actually make gifts, you might have to buy extra pieces. Still, a great intro for the price.

I bought this a while ago and just got it out yesterday to give it a try. I watched a video explaining how to do it and followed the instructions. The kit had everything I needed. It was fun playing with the dye and different types of glitter. I did not have a heat gun so I was a little concerned that I would have a lot of air bubbles, but they turned out so great! My only complaint is that the molds do not have any matching sets for earrings, but I ordered some and I'm excited to do another round. I highly recommend this kit!

This kit contains everything you need to get started but the "instruction manual" is just one sheet of paper.It tells you how to mix the resin but that's it. It's not very detailed for something labeled as "beginner".It doesn't tell you how much ink to use or when to add it.It doesn't tell you how to use the hand drill.It doesn't give instruction on clean up.For example, I used both measuring cups to measure my equal parts then poured them into another cup for mixing. (Was that even correct? I don't know.)What's the best way to clean the cups after use? Not really sure but I used some rubbing alcohol and it seemed to work.Some of the molds are super tiny. I can't even image how someone could drill a hole in them to use them for jewelry.Despite having instruction on how to mix the resin, I still have too many questions that I feel should be included especially for someone that has never worked with resin before. Thankfully, there is the internet and TY.
