Quality product for an inexpensive Bible
Nothing to dislike, Hard cover, light pages, thin but still ok - but don’t recommend using highlighters, print not too small. Very unique features. A glossary of Hebrew words with pronunciation into English and definitions along with maps at the end of the book. An index of scriptures from the Hebrew Scriptures found in the New Testament. A Topical and a Theme Articles Index. List of contributors and suggestions for further readings. The translator is David H. Stern. Dr. Stern taught Fuller Theological Seminary’s course on Judaism and is an officer of the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America now living inJerusalem. Being a Jewish person I have had a hard time dealing with the antisemitism and ignorance of Judaism in the N.T. - with Dr. Stern’s research and commentary it’s readable. Finally a translation from the Greek I can stomach and it makes sense in the light of the Hebrew Scriptures - the Tanach.Being an English speaking person all my life I am not familiar with ALL the Hebrew words included in this translation so I look them up in the glossary and enjoy how they add to the understanding.I am absolutely thrilled to find this Bible. Adding it to my Torah studies snd currently enjoying the Psalms. Non Jewish readers only familiar with translated into English names may find the Hebrew names confusing at first, but you can figure them out easily. This Bible is a beautiful translation to add to anyone’s Scripture study. With this Bible you can see Jews and Christians are truly one people. Buy it and learn! Thanks Dr. Stern and all Praise to Adonai!

You will not regret this purchase! ❤️
God's word will not return void. Isaiah 55:11This CJB has helped me so much in just the short time I've been studying it. It helped to explain the significance of the leftovers collected when Jeshua fed the mass, it answered why Miryam did not go out as Marta did to meet Jeshua after El'azar had died. So many unanswered, unasked aloud of anyone questions Ive pondered have been answered for me in such a short time It's by the grace of God I have this now. I love this holy book, but now I Love this Holy BookIt's also very well made and extremely beautiful as I've tried to show by my poor photos. It's worth much more than I gave for it that's for sure. Thank you so much to everyone involved in putting this together. As a non Jewish (gentile) believer, I have needed this.

Fantastic study bible from Hendrickson
This bible contains Daniel H Stern's 1998 translation of the "Complete Jewish Bible" along with rabbi Barry Ruben's exhaustive study notes, maps, charts and cross references. It is hardcover with rather thin pages. The front matter contains a thorough introduction to Stern's translation method and his belief that the TaNaKh is "complete" when read together with the "Brit' Chadashah" (or "New Covenant") along with a guide to rabbi Rubens' notes and cross-references to traditional Jewish writings such as the Talmud, Targums, MishnahI was pleasantly surprised to find a table of parasha and Haf'Torah readings in the appendix of the bible. However, Rubens includes New Testament readings along with traditional Torah and Haf'Torah readings. Christians may enjoy this, but I was a little puzzled to see distinctly Jewish scriptures read alongside non-Jewish scriptures (oh well)This is a fantastic bible. There is something for everyone to like and perhaps there is something to grumble about but I love mine and I heartily recommend it!

For advanced Bible students!
Exceptional, comprehensive, study Bible for those serious Bible scholars who desire to immerse in and connect to their Messianic Jewish roots. Fascinating historical data and commentary. Hebrew translations. 👌🏾

A great addition to my other Bibles
I appreciate the Hebrew twist this Bible puts on scriptures. It uses a lot of Hebrew proper names and offers Jewish information not found in other Bibles. And it includes a New Testament! There is a lot of cross-referencing that is made available. It is not a Jewish Bible in that it offers Hebrew and English language translations side by side.

Change your perspective of the scriptures!
Greath study Bible. David Stern did a great job of enabling the reader to see the Jewish factor of scripture!
