Necessary
This was the right replacement for my 2003 Sierra 4.3 . Plug fit well with no alteration. Time will tell if it lasts but for now code is gone and truck runs fine.

Doesn't work in my 2011 GMC SIERRA 5.3 L!
I have a 2011 GMC Sierra with the 5.3 Liter engine. Recently, I had the "Check Engine Warning" display. As determined by my Torque OBDII tester there were two error codes shown, PO140 (no voltage activity), and PO2270 (voltage out of range) - (see attachment). These two codes indicate a failure of the Oxygen Sensor located at Bank 1(driver's side of engine) position 2 (on exhaust pipe after the catalytic converter). I removed the O2 sensor and checked between the pins on the 4-wire connector plug located at the frame. As measured by a handheld volt-ohm meter, the O2 heater indicated 13 ohms and the O2 sensor output measured zero ohms (a short circuit). There was no doubt it was bad. I ordered this O2 sensor (specified to fit my vehicle by the Amazon Lookup for a 2011 GMC Sierra 5.3L). When the O2 sensor arrived, I tested the heater resistance - it was 10 ohms and the sensor resistance tested infinity. I cleared the check engine error codes with my Torque and started driving. In a short distance the "Check Engine Light" came on and indicated the bank1 sensor2 was faulty. This time the voltage was too high. Using Torque OBDII I did a Graph of bank1 sensor2 and it was over 9 volts which is too high (it should be closer to 7 volts). I returned the sensor to Amazon (it got lost by the way by UPS in shipping). I reordered a second Oxygen sensor of the same type. It had the same problem with too high an output voltage. I next went to the GMC dealer where I purchased the car to see if he could find the trouble. He replaced the 2nd Amazon sensor with a new GMC sensor from their parts department and it worked fine. His report states the sensor I received from Amazon was either the wrong sensor or a defective sensor. I was left with the $$390.34 bill for labor, parts and tax. I am glad it is fixed but it was a bad experience not just because of the cost but because the sensors are hard to remove. It was very time consuming because I spent so many hours working on the truck and even trying to get my refund on the first sensor. The second sensor refund came right away.I am concerned Amazon has no way to check the vendors closely enough. They are getting some bad parts into their system without knowing about it. Earlier this year I had a Delco PF61 oil filter fail to the point the engine was starved for oil. It set off a low pressure "Check Engine Light" code which is almost unheard of.

Perfect OEM replacement for 2005 Pontiac G6
Bought this to replace the downstream O2 sensor in a 2005 Pontiac G6. (Bank 1, sensor 2 code)Direct fit and correct connector for factory wiring harness make this an easy swap. Arrived with anti seize already on the threads. Check engine light and code have not come back since replacement. Make sure you have a 7/8" wrench.

1 good 1 bad
Bought 2 downstream o2 sensors a couple months ago because one of my originals was bad and decided to replace both.. finally getting around to it being I don't drive my yukon denali much.. install was pretty simple but one of my new sensor was triggering a heater circuit code as soon as I installed it...so I will try one more if it doesn't work I will try another brand and recommend you do also if it fails me...will follow up..

Great Product at a Great Price
Item was a direct fit on my 2003 Sierra, worked great. Delivery was fast and the product was just as described. This is not a "universal" fit O2 sensor, this one is vehicle specific and had the correct wire connector for my truck, took less than 10 minutes to install.
