This is a terrific product for year-round peace of mind. It was easy to install, easy to seal, and provides easy access for my dog to enjoy the great outdoors. It fits well and there is an adjustable appliance that provides extra security for a sliding glass door.

I'm very happy with this purchase. My dog learned to use it in a couple of days. The double flap system works well. The build is very solid. I like the double paned glass versus a lot of the other single paned examples I've seen and used before.Be prepared to add your own foam (or other type) weather stripping in addition to what comes with the item. The double sided tape on the plastic sweep that is supposed to insulate the vertical part of the overlapping sliding door panes doesn't stick well to the door or the rubber itself. It's a minor issue and can be fixed. But it will be needed in very hot or cold weather.I'm very handy with DIY so installation wasn't difficult. It may be more difficult for others. The item was packed up well. Assembly instructions were easy to understand. My Pella sliding door sits on a narrow rail in the bottom track. Because of that, this item wouldn't sit all the way down into the track. I was able to solve for this by cutting slots in the bottom of the item with a dremel tool to allow it to straddle that rail and sit all the way down into the track.Overall for the price it's a great item. I highly recommend versus the cheaper options available.

Great has its flaws,starting with bottom should been edge cut out for door track,door is acceptable little tough for small cat both my small females have issues although I am still teaching them there first time user,,in middle bottom connects to top there is a little gap as you can see in video I am sure I will come up with easy fix for it,,built pretty strong probably worth the money never purchased this type of idea seems ok,I already lean to window ideal as I have mine leading to catio as I don’t leave my cats walk the streets even roam the yard ,its cool ideal it works built well I guess it’s all in buyers hands.i will keep mine

I purchased this door in late October of '22, and installed it early November. After installation, I noticed that the outer flap wasn't sealing properly. I can push back into place so the magnet holds it in the closed position, but the next time it's used, the flap remains open. It seems to have a permanent warp in the material (see photo). I ordered the "extreme weather" version of this door, as we live in a cold climate area, often with windy conditions. Hence, with the outer flap not sealing properly, a strong wind easily blows open the inner flap, allowing a gust of cold winter air into the room.I went to the PetSafe website and spoke with Jena via their online chat on November 11. I explained the situation to her, and she suggested that I contact their customer service via email ([email protected]), explaining the issue. She also said to include in the email a copy of the invoice from Amazon, along with photos showing the issue with the door. As our online chat was on a Friday, she said it would be 3-4 days before getting a response.I sent the email the same day (11-11-22) with the requested information (proof of purchase, photos, and explanation of the problem).Receiving no response as of December 1st, I once again emailed customer service, asking if the issue was being addressed.By December 27, there is still no response, so I emailed them yet again!It's now January 18, and STILL no response.I really shouldn't need to spend $70.00 on a replacement part for a brand new item that cost me $300.00+, but I have no other option at this point.This is unfortunate, as it is overall a quality product, well designed and sturdy construction. If you have no issues with this product, it's a very nice option for a dog door.But Lord help you if you ever need to contact PetSafe customer service.

Get this!!! I've had the normal PetSafe before, the cheaper one, and it doesn't compare to this! Spend the extra money and get the extreme weather....not only does it help out better with snow, rain, heat, etc....it also closes better to help keep out bugs, keep the AC or heat in. I live in VA and with four seasons, trust me....spend the money! I have two of these...one on the deck and one in the basement going out to the patio. The glass is thicker, the doors themselves are two regular flaps with an insulated piece between them. I have a 30 pound beagle mix who figured it out easily and just pushes his head on the door to go in and out. He loves it! And I love it when he has to go out at 2 in the morning he just goes, does his think then back to bed...I don't worry about having to get up and take him out....and I don't have to worry about my electric bill going up! Seriously, spend the extra money on this one....you won't be disappointed. I didn't utilize the screws and hardware it came with...I placed it on the outside slot and used wood shims to keep it in place. Also bought better weather stripping at the hardware store....also you will not be able to lock your door....so I got a big wooden dowel and cut it to size to put in the tracks of the door....works great!

Not looking good so far, can't even use until the company ships the missing parts which will take around a week. So much for the next day order from Amazon.

We live in the top of the Beartooth Mountains. The wind gusts to 90 mph at times, and higher. This pet door holds up to the wind and keeps the cold outside. The weather has only been down to single digits. When it drops to -40 or more I will update my review. So far, I'm impressed.

It was a little difficult to install and like other reviews I saw before buying, BUY EXTRA WEATHER STRIPPING! This is one of the best purchases we’ve made this year! Both dogs use it easily.
