Second Update - I got another for my daughter. Hers was wonderful (no rubber band needed to keep the lid on and food stayed where it belonged), so I was wondering what was up with the other one. I compared them and the lid was the issue! It must have been a defect or they improved the lid because the old one that didn't stay on was thinner. I reached out and they sent me a new lid and it's absolutely perfect.Update - The seller was so great after seeing my review. Since then, and reading some more reviews because I really wanted to like it, I have tried using silicone cupcake liners and individual sealed containers for the smaller items (nuts, berries, etc.) as well as put a rubber band around the top so the lid doesn't jiggle off and that works. After the customer service I received and figuring out what works, I think I will get another for my daughter along with some additional containers for next year as well as look at their other products.I loved the idea of this lunchbox for my son! I have heard so much about the Bentgo boxes and this was such a better price, so I have it a try. The lid doesn't stay on too well and there's too much space between the lid and the dividers, so food goes all over and it doesn't stay put in each section, which makes for a mess. It works with larger items, such as a sandwich or something, but blueberries or nuts, no way! I purchased this a while ago for snack for Pre-K and had some issues, but I could deal with it. Now that my son is taking a whole lunch, it's not working for us.

Update: Wow. I’m speechless. This company cares. They CARE! They sent me a replacement, refunded my purchase and even sent some bowls with matching cups to try. I’m one of those people that is willing to pay for service. It’s the reason why I drive the kind of car I do and why I spend my money with special places. I am a proud American and believe in supporting OUR businesses. They even sent a hand written card. I don’t even get that from my relatives .. lol. They do use quality materials which are much better for food storage and use than what is mostly on the market.My design suggestion to alleviate difficulty with the lids is to add a gasket to the lid. I’m sure some will argue that it will make it hard for the littles to open BUT, if all the teacher has to do is pop it open, that’s a win IMO. Thank you Weesprout for caring so much.Well, the material is nice, so was the packaging. However, I ordered this over a month before my daughter started preschool. BIG MISTAKE! Because of course the return window is closed. Now I’m stuck with a bento box that is useless because the lid will not stay on. It just sits on top of the container. 4 uses was all I got out of it. Food spills out into the lunchbox making an absolute mess of her lunch and her lunchbox.I bought this as a way to reduce plastic use and have a durable product that wouldn’t leach chemicals into my child’s food and mess with her hormones. It also fits inside the pottery barn lunchboxes.

They are a great company and as a customer, I really appreciate that they took the time to reach out about my initial dissatisfaction.(BTW: My favorite item is the stainless condiment cup (which came with original purchase) with silicone cover. It fits securely on, doesn't leak and serves it purpose.).WeeSpouts customer service noticed my review which had originally been three stars (I have now changed to four stars. I continue to use the bento box for my daughters lunch - we just secure items in each of the 3 compartments so they won't spill if the top comes off. I thought with continued washing the top would become more secure but it still does not fit tightly. Hopefully WeeSprouts can improve on this design.I agree with other reviewers who recommend placing on bottom rack in dishwasher to thoroughly clean (I hand wash the silicone bottom). It's very light and the perfect size for a small school lunch. Easy to clean - even the silicone. Haven't put through the dishwasher only hand washed.Even though this is a great alternative to plastics, I will not purchase this product again, b/c it did not work in my 4th graders lunch box. the top does not secure tight enough to keep food from falling out (We have to place lunch containers on their sides to fit in her lunch box). I had to put a rubber band around the container to get the top to stay on enough so no leaks.

UPDATE!! I must have gotten a defective lid with my initial purchase. Weesprout reached out to me and sent me a new bento box, and let me just say it works flawlessly! The new one is everything I hoped it would be for my kiddos! So excited to have a these nontoxic, easy to clean, leakproof and easy to use containers. Our family Will only be purchasing weesprout containers from now on! So much peace of mind knowing these products are fully backed by the company 😍This is a very nice looking lunch box and I Was so excited to get it for my toddler. However, the moment I took it out of the packaging I immediately noticed that there is no way to keep it closed.. there is no latch or even a snap or a groove to keep the lid on. I had to wrap a rubber band around the box to keep the contents from spilling out. Very poor design from the company, and deceiving advertising.
