I have had this now for years and never used it, fortunately. I decided to pull the pin to test it and see if it still works and it doesn’t! Apparently this is not to be kept long term for use. Does not withstand heat, because the light will burn out. I carried this on my bags (purse, gym, pickleball bag) exposed to sunlight and heat and it doesn’t hold up well to elements. Think before buying. You can see in the photo how the light on this device will burn out and the alarm will no longer work either.

Good little defense alarm. The only thing I don’t like is the description on the back of the box. Why does it have to read LGBTQ? When it already reads for men and women would be enough to suffice. This is a gift for a couple of people and that wording kinda makes it appear like a political statement which I do not want on a gift for someone. Had I known that was on there I would not have purchased them and went somewhere else. I have since blacked that part out. Thank you.

Bought these as graduation gifts for my 4 friends daughters as they head off to college. This gave their Mom's a sense of security. The girls have it attached to their purse or back pack for easy accessibility.

Light which was rarely tested stopped working after less than a year

This hangs on my lanyard which I wear when going for a walk. I like the fact that this is activated with a pin -- much easier if you feel you are in an emergency to just pull. An attacker could easily activate it as they are trying to attack; a couple of times I accidentally pulled the device off of the pin and the noise was deafening. Highly recommended for middle of the night use against that Karen neighbor.Here is a tip I learned: if ever you are attacked, yell "FIRE!!!!!!!"over and over. People can be reluctant to help if they sense danger from another person. But even little kids will come running to witness a fire.
