As a writer by trade, my authoring tool of choice is a mechanical keyboard on a PC running MS Word. But sometimes you've got to mark up documents by hand. My life-long aversion to ball-point pens has caused me to grit my teeth whenever I used one: either the result is messy blotches, or, due to the current rage for "ultra fine points" the thread of cursive script is so thin and faint it's barely legible.For some time now I've kept an eye on friends' and associates' writing instruments in the hope of finding one that worked for me. A couple of weeks ago I found it! Pentel's Vision Elite UB-200 Rollerball pen, with a medium-sized .7 mm metal ball, writes smoothly and clearly and is completely free of bad habits. Its rubbery area where your fingers to go hold the pen is slip-resistant and, because it's a little larger in circumference and has a soft rather than hard plastic surface, my writer's cramp doesn't show up on time.I suppose these pens cost more than the usual rollerball offerings, but their value proves itself to me every day.
