Worth it
If you’re struggling with digestion - I think this problem is 100% worth it. It’s priced better than its competitors, tastes relatively good, and mixes easily into water, and provides all the nutrients and macros you need.Addressing the reviews: Yes the taste has an aftertaste, but not unlike most protein powders. It’s still good and drinkable imho. Also yes it has a lot of sugar, so I just diluted it further. I do wish it had more proteins but that’s just me.The issue I had actually was that it was acidic and triggered my acid reflux. I considered mixing it with oat milk or taking medication with it to mitigate this.Overall great product for its purpose - gets the job done when your gut needs to heal.

Horrible taste/smell and way too much sugar
Hi there...I am currently under treatment for SIBO and it was suggested by my Functional MD to go on the Elemental diet for a few weeks to reset my gut health. First off this product tastes like fish and smells like rotten eggs and fish. Secondly, it has way too much sugar, especially for someone with SIBO cause those nasty little intestinal bacteria would just love all that sugar. I wish I knew this ahead of time cause I wouldn't have ordered it and unfortunately I can't return it even before I opened it. I should have stuck with Integrative Health Physicans Formula brand..way less sugar and tastes much better.

A life saver
This has been a lifesaver for me during chronic illness that includes GI issues abd weight loss. Not delicious but much more palatable than other elemental diets I've tried. Amazon's price is much lower than others so do buy it here.

No if you have diabetes/ yeast in gut- High in sugar!!
Good budget option. Have made my own elemental diet as well as have tried KT Elemental both chocolate and Thai soup. Have also worked with Integrative Theraputics - Dextrose free. Bioclinic Naturals makes wonderful products, and love that it is a brand that you can trace to source. Honestly, this brand is usually sold by practitioners in Canada, so the simple fact this is offered, is pretty cool. Taste is pretty good, yes it has a slight smell of sulfur, but is normal with B vitamins + thiamine etc. Also this has FOLIC ACID which should be avoided with MTHFR Gene mutation. Would also consider going dextrose free if you have blood sugar issues or candida overgrowth in the gut. Hopefully Bioclinic will put out a Dextrose free and replace folic acid with Methylated Folate... but, sometimes we have to work with what we have to heal the gut the best ways we can.

Alot of sugar (46g). Too much for me
Taste ok. 46g sugar per serve, hydrogen and methane breath stayed high on this, dropped when i switched to an 11g sugar per serve elemental drink.

quality product at a very reasonable price.
I almost didnt buy this Elemental Diet Mix bc the reviews were not great, but lm very pleased with the product. I think perhaps much of the negative feedback is in part a failure to understand that the Elemental Diet is not a regular protein shake but is used as the sole caloric intake for people with destabilizing gastric issues like Crones Disease, SIBO, chronic IBS, abdominal surgeries or longterm disordered eating. It is basically what you would put in a feeding tube to keep someone alive, but its palatable. Its called elemental bc all the nutrients are in their most elemental form, and dont need to be digested by the body, which allows you to have the nutrients you need while letting your digestive system heal. That said, the super high sugar content makes sense, bc you need glucose to survive if this is all you will eat for a month to six weeks. Otherwise, yes, thats way too much added sugar. (there are dextrose free variations but they require a prescription and are at least twice the price, but are available if you want them)This product is not as sweet as some ED mixes are and doesnt, to me, have a vitamin or eggy taste, but Im also using it to treat a gastric condition, so lm not looking for a yummy shake as much as a food source. l get its not everyones thing and might not taste as good as less involved mixes would, but I would drink it as a meal replacement even if I wasnt doing the Diet..It’s definitely the most affordable option I have found and it's on Amazon so it’s fast free shipping unlike others from Canada or a pharmacy.I think for what it is, it’s a good product at a good price, and would recommend it if you are looking for an affordable accessible ED mix.(long reviews are so obnoxious, smile. apologies..)

Tastes like rotten eggs / gave me nausea and a stomach ache
I initially wanted to write a 3 star review just because of the bad rotten egg taste.. but within 15 minutes I got a stomach ache and nausea. I spent $100 on this product and you can't return it.I thought other people's experience with the taste were exaggerated, and that the nausea was just an edge case... they weren't wrong. I should have spent the $35 more and gone with a superior product.I think the proteins in this are denatured or from a particularly bad food source. Save yourself the stomach ache.
