Sri Vidya, despite its vulgarization and popularization in new age subcultures, remains one of the most recondite and complex sacred sciences of Tantra-shastra - this book provides a surprisingly readable overview of Sri Vidya from a practical perspective, but is very comprehensive in that it includes precise information on all major technical aspects of Sri Yantra, its Tantric metaphysical bases and spiritual context, the esoteric secrets underlying the geometric structures of the yantra, inc. Marmas etc. The qualities of the Bhupura and 9 Avaranas are fully explained, as are the Mantras of Sri Vidya and the author includes the names of the Devi from Lalitasahasranama and much other valuable and detailed information. The operative aspects of the Sri Vidya in sadhana, meditation and in other practises are lucidly expounded and the whole book is practical rather than merely theoretical in its slant. This is a valuable and worthwhile resource on this profound branch of Tantra-Vidya and worth having at hand whilst studying such works as Saundaryalahari, Vamakeshvari Tantra et al.

An excellent book and probably one of the best and most accessible books on tantra, and sri vidya in particular, out there. Easy to read and super compelling, yet not in any way dumbed down or lightweight.I'm actually going through it now for a second time - it's that good :)A very high recommend indeed.

Book for people who are absolutely new to Sri Vidya or have no idea of Srividya . Not for people practicing for awhile
