Workhorse!
I opted for this version instead of the KitchenAid one because it's made of metal, not plastic. It's sturdy and goes in the dishwasher. I use it all the time. I shred cheese with it, and recently, Brussels sprouts. It is far easier to clean than my Cuisinart, which I used to use for these purposes. I still love my Cuisinart, but this has earned a rightful place in my kitchen.

Works better than KitchenAid brand
I absolutely love this tool! I have gone through 2 KitchenAid brand sets because the plastic always busts on it. I decided to try this one when it was time to replace it a third time. It attaches the same way, It is a little smaller, which I think is good because it works better. Easier to clean and dishwasher safe, though I don’t recommend it when used with cheese because the cheese just melts to it in the dishwasher.

Perfect for potatoe shredding
Bought it to shred potatoes and it’s perfect for it. Sturdy to push through the potatoes and easy to clean after use too. However, the tube to push the potatoes through is pretty small in diameter meaning you have to slit the potatoes multiple times resulting in a longer prep-time

Small but mighty!
Shredding a simple soft block cheese with my KitchenAid mixer:ProsGreat quality stainless, cleans easy plus durable for price of $50.00ConsThe feeding chute: very small, which I had to cut simple average block of cheese (of no name as on sale for $1.00) to quarters to fit. While shredding, cheese would not come out of hopper to fine grade (better melting,) so went standard: same issue. I went and made a safe little back lift: worked with cheese coming out, but a bit choppy as to light trial and error.Over-all, look at the photos. My opinion and usage: I used as directed at speed 4-6. It works with Kitchenaid. If you want stainless steel and refuse to buy pre-shredded store cheeses and to quality, sure! Go for it as another attachment to KitchenAid if you feel!As a note, I definitely would pay more for a similar bigger stainless quality attachment for my KitchenAid with the great quality and workmanship as this model 'bit small, but mighty! Made my "abstract wall of cooking utensil decor:useable as needed". Big thanks to the others as fair reviews: had to test this one out for myself.Happy food prep, cooking eating, and health to all!

Completely Disappointed
The overall product is of a very shoddy design, and I'm left completely dissatisfied. It's almost as if the product designers had just blueprints of a KitchenAid, but didn't actually see if their product fits. When you insert the hopper into the KitchenAid mixer attachment slot, their is a slight depression where the locking mechanism is supposed to go, however, these don't line up and the device repeatedly falls out. Additionally, the metal is not strong enough when you push, say a carrot, down the shaft. Each push starts to deform the metal. I don't think this could even withstand making 1 carrot salad. Finally, the tube in which you place the item to be ground is much smaller than expected. Basically, I could only fit about a carrot in the tube.TL:DRCheap crafting and shoddy design make this almost impossible to use for its intended purpose.
