Another Great Entry by EVGA
If you know anything about PC hardware, you know that the GeForce GTX 1080 is a beast to begin with. The FTW2 takes it a step further with its new iCX cooling technology, and a who-needs-this amount of temp sensors. Demolishes anything 1080p you can throw at it, and holds up very nicely on most games in 1440p with High-Ultra settings. The only people who might need anything more than this, would be people wanting 1440p 120Hz+ or 4K. If you have a 4K G-Sync panel, though, the low frames might not even be felt too much.I'm using it with a Ryzen 7 1700 (@ 3.8), so if you're on Intel's Skylake platform or newer, you'll be seeing a decent bit more FPS than I am. Mine runs very cool even in my tropical climate, idling at 30C, and topping out almost exactly at 60C very consistently. I have a fairly aggressive fan curve set, but even with a quiet one, temps don't change drastically. The asynchronous fan control is an added bonus, but do note, you have to use EVGA's Precision XOC to utilize this function. I don't really use the async control, but again, it's nice to have. The rated 1860mHz overclock is generous, and with current GPU Boost tech, it'll run at 2000mHz+ on its own in the right conditions. I got it stable up to 2200mHz without touching the voltage slider. I didn't mess with memory clocks, but it's overclocked nicely out of the box. It's definitely overkill for eSports games like CSGO, DOTA, and LoL, but it's nice having the extra power to utilize 120-240Hz panels fully. Games like Far Cry 4, which have weird CPU usage issues, might not even let you hit the 90% usage on the card. Again, though, it's nice having the headroom. The added backplate is nice, but I'd very much like them to use bigger screws, because mine is now out of commission after stripping them trying to install a water block (I thought my 0 pt. precision screwdriver was perfect, but it was too shallow, apparently; the bigger, non-precision 0 pt. was perfect for the second half of non-ruined screws). This is obviously user error, but now that it's happened, fixing it is extremely hard because of the screw size.Pricing at the time of purchase (June 2017) was at or slightly above MSRP. As such, it was a perfect price point for this card. What you're getting is a robustly built, great looking 1080, in spitting distance of FE 1080's price point. As of writing this, however, this card is selling for $900-950+. If you absolutely need something right now, go for it. But, just keep in mind that Volta might be coming soon, and +300 MSRP on a high end component might not be worth it for most people.Overall, this is a solid performer. I've had zero problems with it performing as it should. This is my sixth EVGA card, and they haven't done anything to make me switch. My second and fourth cards, both GTX 660s, had to be RMAd, and between Amazon and EVGA, I was quite satisfied with the service, as it was prompt and nicely handled.TL;DR: Anyone who wants a solid card for high refresh 1080p, good fps 1440p, or capable 4K, this is your card. Especially since it's backed by a great company.

Fantastic upgrade, worth every penny.
I purchased this back in April as an upgrade to my aging 390X and growing tired of waiting for AMD's new line of GPU's coupled with the ReLive drivers being a nightmare for me causing me deep frustration after AMD had been doing really well with drivers, it was severely disappointing. After doing a lot of researching in early march, I settled on this specific card (almost grabbed the original FTW but the research proved very helpful in this particular instance) because I personally found it to be the most appealing on visual and software level. I was not disappointed in the slightest and this was definitely the right choice.First I'll say it's a night and day difference on a performance level (which is not surprising given how old my 390X technically was due to rebranding) and drivers have been pretty good for the most part only had a problem with a couple drivers thus far but overall a better experience. The installation was smooth, the settings were easy to understand and they don't have all the restrictions AMD's current software does regarding per game settings.Second, this card is definitely overkill for 1080p, which is what I game at but it is rock solid a 60fps on the highest settings of every game I've thrown at it. Having played and tested this card on Shadow of War, Metro 2033 and Last light, AC: Syndicate, Witcher 2 & 3, Destiny 2 and Fallout 4 (which is a feat unto it's own given how poorly optimized fallout titles are) just to name a few. All were 60fps or higher with absolutely no give that I personally saw.Lastly, this card is quieter and cooler than my 390X was, which again, is not surprising. AMD is more focused trying to get the performance on par with Nvidia right now than they are quiet and cool cards but I also had a Sapphire Tri-X Nitro so that card was gonna be loud anyway.I would recommend this card to anyone who can afford it and wants a pleasant gaming experience. If you cannot afford it, AMD's Vega is not to far behind in performance but the drivers right now leave a lot to be desired compared to how they were pre-ReLive.
