FIRST IMPRESSIONS:These faux gold brushes are not going to impress any adult with their beauty. I would have preferred that they left the stinky rubber purse out of the set and used those resources for the brushes instead. Everyone who uses make up and brushes already owns a storage pouch for their beauty supplies. Rubber stinks and the brushes don't fit in it very well. This set is packed in enough plastic to wrap a dozen sea creatures.FUNCTIONALITY:The stinky rubber bag is not useful at all - send it to the landfill. The brushes topple over easily - except for the short stumpy ones. They are smaller than you would expect. However, they are soft and it is a pleasure to apply make up with them. So they do the job that they were created to do well. The long slender brushes are easy to hold and use. The short stumpy ones are not as great. It's much easier to apply make up with a long handle than it is to hold on a to ball shaped thing with a brush on it.GIFT-ABLE?NO... no... no. UNLESS you are getting these for a young teen who is impressed with shiny things and starting to experiment make up. They would have fun with these.

The 3 squat, little, fat ones sit nicely wherever you place them. And they have an ergonomic notch for ease of use.The 8 taller brushes are just the right size for precision work and handling, though they could use an ergonomic notch as well, especially since they are thin and smooth. They do Not sit up well by themselves, and that's disappointing and frustrating, since the product is being promoted as brushes that sit up by themselves.I wouldn't use the carrying purse as it is thin and will smash the brushes. It won't hurt them. I have a carrying purse that is at least 1" deep and I prefer something like that. But the carrying purse is being put to good use for something else.This would be a fun set to have and give as a gift.

I needed some new makeup brushes. This big set covered all my needs and then some. Buying it as a large group is cheaper that buying the individual brushes. This is what you get: blending brush, angled eye brush, stipple brush, eye shadow brush, detail brush, tapered brush, lip brush, eyebrow brush, blush brush, angled fan brush and powder brush. I don't use all the brushes. I don't use powdered foundation or facial powder. So I don't use the small brushes. Except the powder brush I may use every now and then to just smooth out my foundation. They are nice quality brushes. I cleaned them with soap and water and it took them a couple of days to fully dry out. They have thick brush heads. My favorite is the eye shadow brush because it blends in the eye shadow so well. I did not care for the carrying case that came with it. It's gold and shiny! But my granddaughter loved it. I only take a few brushes when I travel. At home, I just leave them in my drawer.
