The Art of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

Wrapped in plastic. Slipcover, hardcover, dent free, high gloss. Like many video game art books, this includes development boards, liner notes and full page depictions of highly stylized finished designs. Done as well as any other. More digital drawings included than by hand.

I have no reason why they selected the artist they did for the cover. I think the cover is terrible, but the art inside the book is done by their lead concept artist and it is absolutely amazing. Extremely talented concept artist and the book delivers with tons of his sketches and comments on the thought process that went into all the iterations of each design. I collect a lot of art books and this one is definitely worth the money.

Great art, while it not not contain the complete works of any one game it offers a nice variety of all 3 games. I wish it contained any of the in-game bestiary or character profiles that Jorge Benedito drew, that in itself could fill its own book. Not even Kojima herself drew every monster and character in game. Definitely for anyone whos a fan of the series, old or new.

Strong and sturdy with gorgeous high quality pages depicting concept art from Lords of Shadow, Mirror of Fate, and Lords of Shadow 2. Also shows scenes from Mirror of Fate in early storyboards, which is always very interesting to see.Wonderful collectible piece for any diehard Castlevania fan and an amazing asset for any prospective concept artists out there.

My first art book, what an amazing purchase. I'm no artist or anything like it, but I love to appreciate it they process artist go through to create characters and places.

I love Castlevania and as a fan this book is perfect for any fan of Castlevania :) beautiful art as well and my love for Vampires is huge and this book fills it :)

I purchased this for a friend but had to page through it first to verify it's quality.The content covers the first Lord of Shadow game very extensively. The backstory summations of important characters alongside many illustrations give the book a very cohesive and useful tone for fans. It also covers the new sequel to Lords of Shadow but its more of a late addition compared to the breadth of content about the first game.If you're a fan that enjoyed the art of the series it is easy to recommend purchasing it.

It is quite appealing visually. However, there are some hiccups: a couple of images do look subpar (pixelated). The text don't used is too small in some sections. Great buy anyways.
