Great quality axle tube seals
I ordered these as an upgrade to the OEM Dana 30 front axle tube seals. I figured since I was replacing the u-joints and wheel hubs, I might as well throw these in for preventive measure. I came to find out that my axle didn't have tube seals! These fit right in and sealed perfectly. After cleaning out the tubes with a wire wheel and applying some grease, these fit like a glove and stay put. Nothing gets in or out with these, and greasing them is trouble-free as long as the zerk fittings are facing forward.

Not a quick install
If you want to do this rightYou are looking at pulling the wheels, brakes, rotors, wheel hub and axleYou could then install but your tubes are still filthySo not you have to pull the diff cover, carrier with gears, and if you have gone this far knock out the seals.NOW , hose out those tubes with brake clean and get a old shirt or shop towels and a wood dowelSwab those tubes like a cannon barrelPut in New innner seals , put your diff back together , NOW you can add a coat of RTV to these and seal the outer side of your tubes.REMEMBER, grease is your friendgrease the axle , grease the seals, NEVER push an axle through dryonce together , take it for a spin then come back and hit those grease fittings AGAINif there is a wall of grease and rubber seal less chance of dirt and water getting into your tubesFor me a "youtube mechanic" that is i learned but watching youtubeit was a 8 hr job IF there are no problems

meh
I bought these for a 2009 Jeep Wrangler. They arrived packaged in a small cardboard box. The axle seals arrived in good condition and appear to have no problems.Install was quick for me because I was putting them in during a ball join replacement. If you just bought these, I would say tearing the front end apart is not worth it.The seals are fine. They are some kind of machined aluminum. The zerk fittings are unimpressive, but will work fine. I put some RTV on them before installing them as it will probably help keep them from spinning. The fit pretty tight to the axle shafts and i do think they are likely to spin in the axle tubes. When putting your axle shafts back in, these are really tight where the axle shaft gets a little larger. I used a bit of lube to make them slide in and pushed a bit to get the axle shafts in. I had to remove the plastic axle tube protectors that came from the factory before reinstalling my axle shafts. The zerk fitting is spaced far enough from the axle tube that I can get a grease gun on it but I did have to install them with the zerk facing the rear of the vehicle. Facing the front, a grease gun would not fit.We will see how well they do. I have my jeep off road a lot and frequently get into mud. I will post an edit if anything goes wrong.Would i get these again? Probably not. They were a bit of a hassle and I am not confident they will really perform. I would certainly not get them unless I needed to remove the axle shafts for something else.

Well Built But Need to Prevent Rotating
These are well made at a reasonable price. However, rotating or creeping is an issue. I coated the O-ring areas with RTV sealant to help resist rotation. The seals that I replaced had larger diameter O-rings and never rotated. Be sure to lube the new seals with plenty of grease before operating the vehicle or the new seals will rotate. The quality deserves a 5-star rating were it not for this rotating issue.Update: RTV sealant worked well at one seal housing; however, the other seal housing rotated and crept out to the axle shaft shoulder. I cleaned the seal housing thoroughly in position, wiped it dry, then applied a coat of Loctite 242 (Blue) to the seal housing surface that slides into the axle housing. After allowing 24 hours to cure completely before moving the Jeep, the 242 Threadlocker keeps the seal housing firmly in position. 242 does not require heat to loosen if the seal housing needs removal.

NO CV axle
I like the idea but this does not work on my dana 30'ed 98 Grand Cherokee. The CV boots rub the part and would end up torn if driven.
