By comparison, much higher priced similar items were rough, lacking the detailing of this one.Just adding to my previous review. I have read several opinions regarding the lack of detail of this item. My point is that, for the price, it is amazing. Of course, it could be more detailed (necessarily bigger), but it would cost many times a higher price. The image showing on Amazon was a faithful image of the real thing I received. Besides, there are many ancient real temple images in museums and in India, and details like the flowing hair, the snakes or even the halo surrounding the image representing fire are missing or look different. There is even a figure without the arch of fire dating from the XVI Century.

You just can't get a better bargain on this statue. Looks like a generous amount of copper goes into this brass. Actually, resembles the color of gold. Detail is what you'd expect at this price. But not bad. Arrived 2 days earlier than the latest delivery estimate. From India, as you would expect.

Looks different in several ways than the pictures. I’m glad to have read up on what the sculpture represents.

The reason I bought this particular Shiva was the detailing looked beautiful, very clear features and beautiful artistry. What I got was something very much so lacking in details. The snake is an undifferentiated blob, his hair instead of being wavy and free is just one lump of barely detailed metal, the demon he dances on is barely there, the base is different, his face looks smashed.I feel like they used a very different statue for the photo and sent me something else, I am immensely disappointed, the only thing they got right was the size.

She's heavy, beautiful, and detailed. Appears to look old, but in perfect condition. Which is what I wanted. I would buy another one in a second.
