A snap to use and adds great concentrated flavor

I usually use a bouillon cube when I need beef stock or broth, but thought I'd try this to see if it's any different. It is! This has a lot more flavor. The entire packet makes a lot, so I figured how much to use for just one cup and used it in a recipe for "Souper Minute Rice". It was very good and had a nice depth of flavor. It was also very easy to mix up.

I ordered Dona Maria Gourmet French Demi-Glace Sauce because I like serving tasty sauces and gravies with meals. This just-add-water sauce looked like a quick and easy addition to meats and vegetables.The 3.5-ounce packet has instructions (in metric) to make a single one-liter batch of sauce- probably good for a commercial kitchen, but I needed to convert it into a smaller portion.The packet doesn't list the nutritional facts which might be important to anyone watching their sodium intake (65% recommended daily value per "small ladle"). It also contains processed ingredients like MSG. It's manufactured in Portugal.I thought the taste of the Demi-Glace was average as a standalone sauce. It was better when beef broth was used instead of water.Overall, I thought this French Demi-Glace Sauce had a disappointing flavor for the price point.

I used this sauce to cook frozen meatballs in. You simply mix this packet with water to make the sauce. The entire package makes approximately four cups. It's very rich and flavorful and my boyfriend and I both loved it.

This makes a very tasty demi sauce, especially if you substitute beef stock for the water. Although I do appreciate that you only need water and no other ingredients to make up this sauce (at the minimum). The instructions are for making a single batch out of the entire packet. If you want to make smaller or individual servings you'll need to do the math yourself to portion it out.Although I did like this sauce (4 stars for flavor), I would probably only rate it a three star on value. I think there are better options out there for the cost.

Easy to make for a quick gravy, aujus, or addition to a slow cooker. The taste is great, we used this for a set of French Dip sandwiches. It has multiple uses and for the price can be used often. The high quality power mixes quickly and provide a smooth, thick gravy.
