Q: Does it make any noise (when turning on or off) like a noticable "click" or any other kind of noise?

As many other customers acknowledged, it does make occasional faint clicking noises that are not an issue for me. As it heats up, my unit makes a fairly loud popping noise. It only happens as the oil is heating up or, sometimes when cooling down. I don't think somebody on the other end of a phone call could hear it. The noise frequently catches me by surprise and startles me, but it's still not an issue.

Q: Can it be set to go on automatically (say at 6am) every day?

Copied from an answer to a similar question: A: You can only program it to turn on after a set number of hours not at a certain time. If you want the heater to turn on at 6:00 am, then at 10:00 pm the night before with the unit off, ( heater must be off in order to set the heater to turn on ) touch the timer switch, timer icon will display and using the + or - to increase or decrease the hours displayed set it for 8 hours and the heater will turn on 8 hours later or 6:00 am. If you want the heater to turn off in 2 hours, with the heater running ( heater must be operating in order to set it to shut off ) press the timer and using the the + or - set the hours displayed to 2 hours, basic but effective. see less

This unit allows timing of "ON" or "OFF". Selection is made and up to 12 hours can be selected. For example, IF unit is ON , timer can be set to turn OFF at a time YOU select. CHANGES IN TEMPERATURE DESIRED AT A FUTURE TIME CAN NOT BE MADE.
