A nice idea, but too heavy
I really like closed-face reels, and have several Zebco reels including a couple of 33, a 404 and a 202. They are great for effortlessly throwing lures over and over again, and being able to stop the lure using your thumb and to wind in as soon as it hits the water (I cast with right hand and wind with left hand) are pluses compared to an eggbeater.I thought that the saltwater version would let me do the same thing in the salt, as well as being beefed up for bigger fish. Unfortunately this reel is beefed up a bit too much, making it overly heavy. It is just too heavy to cast effortlessly. In fact it is bordering on clumsy, and I am a big strong bloke. It also sits just a bit too high, making it a bit harder to reach and control with the thumb - and I have 2XL hands too.Sad really, because IMHO there really is a place for a closed face reel with saltwater capability and 20 lb line capability. Make it about 2/3 the weight, and have it sit about 1/2" lower, and it would be a much better reel.

Drag wheel adjustment post broke off after less than 6 uses
appears to be a sturdy enough reel. But as heading says the brittle metal alloy used for the post snapped. I didn't notice until I heard the piece rattling around inside. I had noticed the drag was harder to adjust. it took me a while to determine the location that the part broke off from. Now I have to spend over a third of the original cost of the unit to send it back to Zebco for a warranty replacement. I don't think spin cast reels are worth the any money unless you are looking for a throw away reel.

Not Capable of handling large fish or saltwater.
I hooked about a 6 lb. grouper and when it turned it apparently bent the spool shaft and instantly started rubbing against the cover. Also the thin plastic threads on the cover do not line up properly to the threads on the body and you spend about 5 minutes trying to get the cover back on. It doesn't like salt water. Could barely reel anything in after just a few uses.

It failed after five fish
I still works and line can be reeled in but a fish can just run with it . Seems like a design failure . Not willing to drive 20 miles to return it . My last Zebco .
