Backpacking friendly.
Small enough to fit in your pocket. Light enough to carry for a multi day trip. Much like it's bigger brother the BK 16, this knife retains an edge and is easy to sharpen! Although not ideal for processing wood, I had no problems with batoning etc. More useful and durable than a flipper or pocket knife. I also like that it can be wrapped in paracord or scales. I like to use orange for both.

Lieblingsteil

An amazing deal when compared to the Izulas
This is my third Becker Knife and I have to say, the most practical for my uses. Out of the three (all purchased on Amazon) it has the best fit and finish, meaning an even, sharp edge, and all newer Beckers have an improved powder coating on them, although I plan on stripping mine, as the coating adds significantly to the blade thickness, thereby lowering slicing performance. I am heeding the warnings of other reviewers about the sheath and how it can dull the blade. I plan on making my own Kydex for most of my knives.Esthetically, I prefer the Izula bladeshape, but the BK14 has a classic stout bushcraft-y drop point that looks really tough. I haven't had a chance to put this knife through any really hard work, although I saw a thread on blade forums where someone punched holes in and carved up a metal tool box with a 14. 1095 cro-van with a Kabar heat treat for almost half the price of an Izula. For me, Becker knives offer tremendous value if you are the kind of person that likes to modify things to their own specifications. Out of the box, the Izula wins, but with some paint stripper (careful, this type of steel is prone to rust) on the blade along with a few passes on the Sharpmaker, you will find any advantages ESEE had quickly disappear.I may also get the scales at some point, although I have wrapped a sufficient length of Paracord on the handle so that the knife fits comfortably in my large hands.

Lindo cuchillo
