Good jeans
For years I wore the same jeans to work. Wrangler 34x34 boot cut. Over the years they fit a little different but they worked well and fit somewhat the same every time. When they changed to flex denim I quite buying them. I hated the feel they felt baggy loose and low quality. I bought some Arizona jeans a few years back that worked great but could hit the time to buy more cause they were out of stock. So in come Amazon.Tailored I'm a 33x33 so for years I've bought 34x34 because that's the most common size for your average guy. These fit great. They might be a little tight in the crotch area but with a few washes and any 100% denim will stretch a bit they're fine. We also don't dry out jeans and hang them up inside to dry so that will help with them shrinking. The rigid is a raw denim as they say and it's not been washed. I work a factory so that's perfect, they feel tuff and industrial and seem like they will last a long time. They are dark in color they will bleed in the wash so beware of that. I would soak them a few times before washing and be sure to keep whites out. You also have to be careful of streaks. Like detergent getting on it and they having some discoloration from that. Not a big deal for me but if you want them as dress up jeans I would pull them inside out as the wash instructions say to try and prevent that.I did buy some of these in the rinse color from a local store. They are the same color and fit exactly the same but they are washed once before they are sold. So if you don't want that stiff raw denim just get the "rinse" color. In all they fit exactly the same because you will wash the rigid and will be become rinsed so to speak. In all I hope that they don't change these jeans. It's kinda hard to find 100% cotton denim. I just don't like the flex and blended denims and just want stick to one size and one brand. I did buy there 527 bootcut and they are nice too but the denim is much thinner. I bought those for my non-work jeans. These 517's seem like good work jeans that hopefully will last a while.

These are nice quality pair of jeans that you would expect from Levi's..
I love everything about these Levi's 517 jeans. Levi's jeans seem to run a little smaller than other brands, so it took me 2 try-ons to get it right. (Normally i wear 32w, but these are 34w and fit perfect). The fabric of denim stiches, color, softness after washing, they are all perfect. I am glad I didn't give up trying to get the correct size for me.

Too tight on my nuts...
These are good, thick and very durable jeans, I'm a 32 waist size but I went 33 to give my package more room, it didn't work, I tried the 527 stretch and what a change! My nuts feel great and are not being crushed anymore, so 517 no good for me, too thick and rough, even though I like their durability and style, on the other hand the 527's are stretch and lighter on the thickness, but we'll see how long they last.

I do recommend them.
I like these jeans. The boot cut actually fits over your boot. The jeans are very comfortable, and they absorb sweat very well.I have problems walking so I don't give them a very good workout. But they are comfortable in any situation I have had them in. They're easy to wash. And they don't shrink. I wash on cold water. And I just use the general purpose drying cycle on my dryer. These jeans should last you a while. I recommend them.

Great jeans
Exceptional. Very hard to find, even at a Levi store. Nice length to cover boots perfectly.

hugs hips better than 501's...fits over boots MUCH better
I have lived in 501's since the early 70's. Comfortable!back then, Levis came out with a flared bottom, but was not bell bottoms, but were wider than 501's. they were not todays 517's.They were skinnier or tighter at the knees, and wider at the bottom, but that was the fashion back then.I love 501's. My 'thing' with them was the bottom opening was always so small.ok for tennis shoes, but for wearing boots, they were too small around the ankle, making the entire boot look too long. simply because they were so narrow, the could not go down any lower on the boot. hahahaI love to wear black biker boots, with a taller 2' heel for easier shifting thru gears. these 517's are wider at the bottom, so the jean bottom rides lower on the boot, only exposing the very top of my round boots, so it looks sexy for a guy. I have had a lot of compliments from mostly women. they seem to like that look for themselves, most people like a smaller foot / shoe profile. The 517's fit the hips, and butt better too. My 501's always make my butt look flat, these give it a little better shape. I work out, and do leg squats, so my butt is not flat! I wear the boots and jeans to work on our 'lax day' Friday.Monday thru Thursday, its business casual, at least for us in the office. This last Friday, I was walking thru the front door, and some guys were kidding me " wheres the guitar?" " you look and dress like a rock star!" hahahaI love my lighter blue 517's!the combination of the lighter blue jean, with black leather boots looks tough, manly, and sexy.I still love the 501's, for pure comfort, but these 517's are in a league of their own. Thanks to Amazon, the price is great!OH- size is different! !!!!my 501's are 34x34. I had to exchange 517's until I found the correct fit due fitting higher on the hip, and longer at the legs.my 517's are 36x32.sounds weird, but a few guys I ride with, who also have 517's say the same thing. one size UP (waist)and one size DOWN (length) from a 501.
